Hi,
In the last 3-4 days i have given 6-7 GMATclub Quant Mocks and i am quite consistently scoring Q46-49. I am really liking the type of questions and the practise of solving under time pressure. Is there a confidence interval for the GMATclub Quant scores? Reading through the forums, i read these might be tougher questions than the actual GMAT.
Since i have still some time before my real test I am planning to take the remaining 15-18 quant starting 15 days prior to the actual date. For now i am planning to focus more on the Verbal section, where i would like to improve from 30 (approximately 1.5 months ago) to 35. Can anyone please recommend what material should i focus for improvement on Verbal? I was planning to revise the SC and practise a lot of RC in the coming days. CR i feel pretty good with.
Thanks in advance!
Regards,
Raunak
Hi Raunak,
You are scoring at a high level in the
GMAT Club tests and they are generally considered more difficult the at the questions on the actual GMAT. So you should be happy about it. Regarding Verbal, the best way to improve in a section is to dig down deep in the problem types:
SC: The questions test various concepts such as S-V agreement, modifiers, parallelism etc. Find out what troubles you.
CR: There might be certain types of questions that are troubling you. May be Assumption, may be conclusion, inference etc.
You need to find that out and then practice them
RC: This again can be drilled down into different types of questions and also different topics. See what questions and topics trouble you the most and then practice accordingly.
Quants: Again try to break the questions in topics such as Algebra, Number system (very important), Geometry, PnC etc.
As an addition, start preparing an
error log and keep a note of all the mistakes you made and the lessons you learnt from the problems. This will ensure you do not make the same mistake again.
Make sure you complete all of the
OG and the Verbal review and if required, you can buy the Question pack1 from mba.com
Also, I would recommend you to take one full length mock CAT every week, so that you can train your body and mind for the full 4 hours of the test.
