I have taken 2 practice exams and scored a 690 on both. Just wondering how I should spend this final week to have the biggest score improvement.

Exam 1: Exam 2:

Quant 46 Quant 45

Problem Solving (47) (44)
DS (44) (48)
Arithmetic (49) (47)
Algebra (36) (43)

Verbal 39 Verbal 39

CR (47) (41)
RC (26) (34)
SC (39) (39)

Clearly, RC needs work. But what other area would you focus on? It seems the entire math section could be better, but how would you go about improving? Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks

Hi

In verbal, SC is something you can concentrate on. Know what type of Qs are you missing on, modifiers, verb etc
Even in Quant, best is to work on your weak areas but you should have homed on to your weaknesses.

Do not tax yourself with too much and get into stress. Keep your cool and improve on your confidence level as the D day approaches.

All the best..

Hi, your verbal score is really good.
For quants, I think algebra needs more work. But I would advise you not to try anything new in the last few days. Just analyse your strong areas and be selective in questions what you are comfortable with also justify you time for those question even with this you can stretch your quant score till 48.

I am attaching a quant flashcard which I found very good.

All the best for your exam!! and a 720+ debrief in making :)

just revise the basics.
Make practice all sections of gmat equally.
I mean few sc, few cr and few rc daily for verbal section. atleast 1-2 questions for each.(sc,cr,rc)
do the same even if you are good in one or two sections. Dont neglect your strength while improving weakness.
All the best.
Be relaxed and calm.

Get plenty of rest. Eat well, sleep well, and stay relaxed.

Review the basics - redo problems you've already done in the past, and focus on getting them right quickly and with confidence. Maybe do some easy-to-medium difficulty new questions.

Review your timing plan, how you're going to organize your scratch paper, and which strategies you'll use for different types of questions.

Don't waste your time studying new concepts at this point. When you do that right before the test, here's what happens - you start a problem, realize 'hey, I just learned a strategy for that', and spend way too much time trying to make it work, since you haven't had enough practice yet to make it quick and automatic. Then you're short on time, and if you got the question right, you now have to face even harder questions...

Focus on maximizing the score you'll get with the ability level you have now. That means going into the test feeling great, and ready to avoid careless mistakes and fully use what you know.
