4.8 hrs

1st candle burns 4.8/6 = 4.5 in 4.8 hrs, So ramaining is 1/5
2nd candel burns 4.8/8 = 3/5 in 4.8 hrs, So ramining 2/5, which is twice First OR first is half of second.

I got this by picking numbers in 1 min. Any other way.

1. Time yourself
2. Solve as fast as you can
3. write your solution here, and please mention your time.

A Candle burns in 6 Hrs. Another candle of the same height and width
burns in 8 Hrs. If both the candles are lit at the same time, after how many hours will the height of the first candle will be half of the second candle.

1. 2 hrs
2. 4 hrs
3. 4.8 hrs
4. 5.5 hrs
5. 6 hrs

4.8 hrs is correct.

height of candle1 after x hrs=(6-x)/6
height of candle2 after x hrs=(8-x)/8
2*(6-x)6=(8-x)/8
x=4.8
