BasicallyKnowNothing2013
Hi Everyone!
I wanted to reach out to the group to get some sort of idea of what to do.
I received acceptances from both Tepper & Kelley, and received a little bit of money ~15% from Kelley, and none from Tepper. I am still pretty open about what I want to do, but I'm interested in either analytical consulting, product management, marketing analytics - in general I'd like to really do something strategy related.
For locations after the fact, i'm pretty open as well. Would be happy staying in the midwest (i'm from there originally), or anywhere frankly.
What're your all thoughts?
Hi there,
Congratulations on receiving an admit in both the schools. Well Tepper will cost you $35-$40K more than Kelley. If you are ok with spending that amount I think you should choose CMU-Tepper. The class size and ranking are pretty much at par. Location will again point at Tepper, bigger city better recruitment. You interest is inclined towards analytics and hands down there is no better school than Tepper for it. Even if you decide strategy Tepper is good.
It is ok to be unsure of where you want to end up. MBA will give you a lot of opportunity to learn about your strengths and motivations. But keep working at it from now. Because as you start your MBA you have to choose between courses, activities, clubs, etc. And like it or not you will head in one direction of your choosing or otherwise. Hope this helps. Good Luck!
