I solved and also got the same answer as 20 women using equations.
Can someone help understand the right and efficient way to approach this question? Bunuel VeritasKarishma

25 man and 10 women can finish a task in 6 days. 21 men and 30 women finish the same task in 3 days. How many women along with 23 men are required to finish the task in 4 days?

A)12
B)22
C)24
D)48
E)50

We need to find how 25 men and 21 men relate to 23 men. It is easy to see that (25 + 21)/2 = 23 so quick equation manipulation should give us the answer.
If m is the rate of work of each man and w the rate of work of each woman,

25m + 10w = 1/6
21m + 30w = 1/3 = 2/6

Add the two equations and divide by 2 to get
23m + 20w = 1/4

So 23 men and 20 women do 1/4th of work each day which means they will complete the work in 4 days!

Assume,
Total work=12 units
25 man and 10 women do the work at 6 days. i.e. 25 man and 10 women do 2 units each day.
21 men and 30 women finish the same task in 3 days. i.e 21 men and 30 women do 4 units each day
Question: 23 men & yyyy women finish the same task in 4 day. i.e. 23 men & yyyy women do 3 units each day.?

Arranging the units of works in two equations, we find
25M+10W=2 units
21M+30W=4 units
………………………
46M+40M=6 units [Adding both equations]
or, 2 (23M+20 M)=6 units
or, (23M+20 M)=3 units
That means, 23 men & 20 women do 3 units each day.
In other words, 23 men & 20 women finish the same task in 4 day.

Thank you for the explanation. It is clear now.
