Hi guys -
I am despairing.
I only have 3 weeks left until my GMAT exam and my CATs have been a total disaster. I would really much appreciate your help how to proceed:
My current CATsI've done one Quant and one Verbal CAT:
Verbal CAT, 6th May: Correct 37,9%, Incorrect 62,1%, 27 answers completed
Verbal CAT, 2nd May: Correct 50%, Incorrect 50%, 36 answers completed
1) How long have I studied?QuantThe last time I had math was 8 years ago, so I started 2 months ago to work 2 x 8 hours per week on the Quantitive section. I've started on the first page of the official GMAT guide and once I've come across a problem, I tried to understand the theory behind it.
VerbalIn contrary to my shambles in the Math section, I've organised my studies on the Verbal section according to the Ultimate Study Plan provided in this forum. I started 3 days ago (8 hours each) to tackle the SC section. I'm currently reviewing all the grammar. Once accomplished, I planned to focus on CR & RC.
2) My goal score: > 550I would like to apply for Stockholm Business School (master programme in marketing). The business school only takes the Quant and the Verbal section into account for the application process. So I don't have to care about IR & AWA at all.
Last year the average GMAT score for this course of study has been 550. So my goal score should be better than hat.
3) My Test Date: 29th of MayMy Test Date is scheduled on the 29th of May. As of tomorrow I am willing to spend 8 - 10 hours each day to study for the GMAT.
4) My inquiryI've done the Quant CAT today and I was completely shocked that I was struggling so heavily. Sometimes I didn't have any idea how to approach the question. On top of that, I've just started studying for the Verbal section and don't have much practice in this part either.
I am running out of time. I don't know where to put the focus on. Should I study 4 hours on Math and 4 on Verbal? Or does a different allocation makes more sense? Moreover, I've already spent quite a lot time on the Math section but obviously with less success - how can I do better?
I do really appreciate your help very much!
Best.
Guenther
