Hi,
I'm glad to be part of this wonderful community.
I'm an Indian female with 5 years of work experience in IT services-Automotive domain.
I have done my Engineering in Electronics from a good university in India. My target GMAT score is 730.
I have been studying since May 2016. I'm taking GMAT on December 3rd, 2016. I have rescheduled the exam to December since I could not hit the peak scores.
I have taken 4 GMAT tests over the last 4 months. Please find the scores below:
1. GMAT Prep 1- Diagnostic TEST : 420 Q23 V21 - May 2016 (with essay and IR)
2. Platinum GMAT : 550 Q38 V27 - June 2016 (No essay and IR)
3. MGMAT CAT : 670 Q45 V36 - July 2016 (No essay and IR)
4. GMAT Prep 1(reset) : 530 Q42 V20 - August 2016 (with essay and IR)
Materials Used :
1. MGMAT Foundations of GMAT Verbal and Quant
2. MGMAT Strategy Guides (except CR)
3. The PowerScore GMAT Critical Reasoning Bible
4. Total GMAT Math by Jeff Sackmann
5. GMAT club Grammar book
6. GMAT club question banks extensively for timed practice.
7. The official Guide GMAT bundle : planning to use it during the next 3 months..
8. 3- 4 articles per day on The Economist/The Atlantic/the New York times
I study for 1.5 hrs on weekdays and 3 to 4 hours on weekends. I have a study plan and I have been following it very diligently.
I'm maintaining an error log as well and I spend ample time reviewing incorrect questions.
I'm particularly weak at RC and SC sections. However, I would have to improve my accuracy also in CR.
It's very shocking to see the drop in scores. I'm not sure what went wrong during the exam since I was not stressed out and took timed breaks.
I have 3 months left and I need to get a score around 730.
I won't be able to spend more that 2 hours per day on weekdays because I have taken up a new assignment at work. But, I can compensate that by study a little more over the weekends.
I'm confused and not sure how to proceed with the preparation.
Please suggest specific preparation strategies and/or resources so that I could get my score around the desired level.

Lonewarrior414 - I think your problem may be approach. You have taken 4 mock tests from 3 different sources, which are in no way comparable. Secondly, they way you may be approaching SC and RC may not be appropriate for a non-native. For example, in Sentence correction a common mistake I see non natives do is focus a lot on grammar rules rather than on meaning logic.

Practice CAT scores are only as realistic as YOU make the process of taking the CAT. The more the 'CAT-taking event' deviates from what you'll face on Test Day, the more likely the score is to be inaccurate (and in most cases, that means "inflated"). By skipping sections, you end up with a shorter Exam that requires less work from you. By retaking a CAT that you've already taken, you likely came across questions that you had already seen, which is not realistic (and impacts your pacing, anxiety, amount of work required, etc.). Unfortunately, NONE of your last 3 CATs were taken in a realistic fashion, so none of those scores can be considered accurate. As an aside, the V36 on your 3rd CAT is a considerable 'outlier' - had you seen any of those Verbal questions before (when you were working through practice problems on this site)? To properly assess your current skills, you need to take a NEW, FULL-LENGTH CAT (with the Essay and IR sections). Once you have that score, you should report back here and we can talk about how best to proceed.
Thankfully, you still have plenty of time to study and improve, which is good. With your score goal though, you're going to have to make some significant improvements to how you handle BOTH the Quant and Verbal sections.
