I had a question that I'm hoping someone might be able to answer. I have seen a couple of posts by people who have had this same score breakdown, yet they received 700 instead of 690. Is it possible to have the same raw scores yet have my overall be lower? Any info would be great.

Yes it is possible, yeah I know, the 700 would be nice. But the score is compared to the test taker pool at the time. So the score will fluctuate. For example, a 720 score about 5 years ago will probably be a 650 for today because today's pool is much more competitive.

Cheers

Well I understand just one thing; it is because of all this bullshit ETS lost a \$200 million GMAT contract to Pearson from 2006. I hate ETS.

thanks for the replies guys. I know what you're saying about the comparison of the test takers at a given time, but I'm talking about seeing posts on this site and others from people who have taken the test within the past month or two and gotten the same scaled scores with a different total. Unless the scale was just adjusted in the past two weeks or so, it doesn't seem right. Again, this was from my "unofficial" score report though. just take a look at some old posts... seems like those scaled scores earned 700 before. I know I'm bitching a lot... thanks again.
