Hi, Garytallbold,

Thank you for your post!

First, I would like to congratulate you on backing a 740 in your GMAT; your overall GPA is ok and something that could be fixed easily in your case. All you need to do is back them up with some substantial examples of leadership, decision-making, and analytical skills in your 15 years long tenure. About your profile, since you want a career change after your MBA, you need to give very strong reasons about why you think it’s a good time for you to switch? What are your aims & aspirations regarding your career switch? Which industries are you interested in and why? And finally, how would you link your past experiences and skill-set with this new role? For your reference, I would suggest you go through our article on How you can justify your career switch to pursue an MBA for a career change!, this would most certainly help provide insights and help you jot down the pros and cons of making a career switch.

Coming to your questions, statistics-wise, you are definitely a relevant candidate for all the mentioned programs. However, you would face the same problem as IMD & Wharton. I want you to understand that it’s crucial for you to give points strictly based on logic and statistics to convince them that you are fit for the program. Furthermore, I want you to understand the need to be flexible about EMBA, since you are strongly against it, I would suggest you to once go through our article on Top Executive MBA Programs, this would most certainly help provide insights and help you jot down the pros and cons of an EMBA curriculum. Stanford MSx, MIT Sloan Fellows, and USC Ibear are all excellent choices. Overall you have a good profile. If you'd like, we are happy to hop on a call with you sometime this week to discuss your profile in length and further help you with your strategy for essays and interviews regarding MBA programs,
feel free to book a free session with us at your convenience.

Let's create a Roadmap for Sept 23 intake R1

Cheers!

Hello Forum

I have 740 GMAT score. My GPA is 3.0GPA. I have 15+ years experience in 9 countries and have travelled to 65+ countries. I worked for a global fortune 500 company and have done many mid to senior management roles managing over 100M$ P&L business. Want to do a MBA to switch to a different career + geography.

1. Is MBA the right program for me?
2. I am thinking about MSX of GSB, Sloan of LBS and Kellogg's 1Y
3. I applied to IMD and wharton and got rejected due to being "too senior"
4. should I pursue PHD in management from various B-Schools?
5. I am not particularly interested in Exec MBA. I think Exec MBA (in part time format) add almost no value and just ensure you get a sticker on your linkedin profile.
