A and B are integers, is (0.5)AB > 1 ?
(1) A is positive integer and B is negative integer.
(2) A and B are two consecutive integers.
(1) A is positive integer and B is negative integer.
(2) A and B are two consecutive integers.
Given (0.5)AB > 1
Then AB > 2 ?
Stat 1: A is positive integer and B is negative integer. Whatever the value of A be , -ve value of B will make < 2...Insufficient.
Stat 2 : A and B are two consecutive integers.
if A = 3 and B = 3 then AB > 2.
if A = -1 and B = -2 then AB > 2.
if A = 0 and B = 1 then AB < 2.... Insufficient.
Stat 1 + Stat 2 : Since AB are consecutive from 2 and B is -ve from 1 then A can be 0 or -ve value ( -1,0 ) < 2, if it ( -3, -2) > 2... different cases... Insufficient.
IMO E is correct answer.
OA please...will correct if I missed anything.
