Speed of faster plane = x, Time = t, Distance = d
Speed of slower plane = x - 60, Timer = 3, Distance = d

t = ?

St1: d = 1590 --> x - 60 = 530 --> t = 1590/590
Sufficient

St2: x - 60 = 530 --> d = 530 * 3 = 1590 --> t = 1590/590
Sufficient

Speed1 = Speed2 - 60
Time1 = 3 hrs

Speed1*Time1 = Speed2*Time2 = Distance

We need to find Time2.

Statement 1: Distance = 1590
From Distance and Time1, we will find Speed1.
From Speed1, we will find Speed2.
From Speed2 and Distance, we will find Time2.
Sufficient

Statement 2: Speed1 = 530 mph
From Speed1, we can find Speed2.
We have Speed1, Speed2 and Time1 so we can find Time2.
Sufficient

Answer (D)

I started with RTD chart.
say slower plane travels at X miles per hour for 3 hours. total distance 3x.
faster plane travels at x+60 miles per hour.
to find T for second plane, we need to find x or D.

1. we have D, therefore we can find x. knowing D and X, we can solve the problem. sufficient.
2. we are told that x=530; we can find x+60 and we can find D. we can solve the problem. sufficient.

the answer is D.
