Plot the information given (in your mind )

A--------S--------B---------C

All 3 dotted lines are equivalent to 2 miles

Hence 6 miles Option D

Since Abdul and Bard are both at the same distance from the School
Abdul - School - Barb
Since Barb's house is halfway between the School and Carlos's school
School - Barb - Carlos
Since the school is 4 miles from Carlos's house, School is 2 miles away from the Barb's house.
Since Abdul and Barb are at same distance from the School, even Abdul is 2 miles away from school.

Abdul -2- School -2- Barb -2- Carlos

So distance between Abdul's and Carlos's houses are 2+ 2+ 2 = 6km(Option D)

The school is halfway between Abdul’s house and Barb’s house.
Sketch it to get: A--------S--------B
Aside: The distances between A and S and between S and B are EQUAL

Barb’s house is halfway between the school and Carlos’s house.
Add Carlos's house to drawing: A--------S--------B--------C
Aside: All 3 distances are EQUAL

If the school is 4 miles from Carlos’s house...
A--------S--------B--------C
So, the two RED distances add to 4 miles
Since those two distances are EQUAL, each distance must equal 2 miles.
That is: A----2miles----S----2miles----B----2miles----C

...how many miles is Abdul’s house from Carlos’s house?
The distance = 6 miles

Cheers,
Brent

Abdul----School----Barb----Carlos
=====x=======x====-===x=====
The distance between Abdul and School, School and Barb and Barb and Carlos is the same. Let x signify the distance.
=>2x = 4
=> x = 2
So Abdul's house from Carlos's house = 3x = 3*2 = 6

D is the answer.

Since the school is 4 miles from Carlos’s house, and Barb’s house is halfway between the school and Carlos’s house, Barb’s house is 2 miles from the school.

Since the school is halfway between Abdul’s house and Barb’s house, the school is 2 miles from Abdul’s house.

Thus, Abdul’s house is 2 + 4 = 6 miles from Carlos’s house.
