Hi ankuradhikary,

First of all, a 710 is a fantastic GMAT score. Even if you decide to retake the GMAT, you may consider keeping your 710 as a “safety net”, so if you do not score higher than a 710 on your retake, you still have your 710 score in your back pocket.

To help determine whether you should retake the GMAT, I would like to learn some more about your GMAT experience and MBA goals.

1) Did you get your enhanced score report? If not, could you do so and share the score breakdown from your most recent GMAT?

2) Have you taken any official MBA.com exams? If so, what are the score breakdowns of those exams? When you took the practice tests, did you take them under realistic conditions (e.g. in a quiet environment, no extended breaks)?

3) What was your study routine for your first GMAT? For how many hours a day did you study and for how many total months? What resources did you use for your prep?

4) For how many hours a day and for how many total months could you study for a retake?

5) What deadlines are you targeting?

6) To what schools do you plan to apply?

Also, I wrote a detailed article about how you can [https://blog.targettestprep.com/leveraging-the-new-gmat-rules-to-earn-a-higher-gmat-score/] leverage the GMAT rules to earn a higher score[/url].

If you have any further questions, feel free to reach out to me directly.

Good luck!!

Thanks Jeff. I have decided not to cancel my score but still contemplating on a retake. Below are my responses to your queries in the same order.

1. No. I am yet to get the ESR.
2. I have taken four GMAT prep CATS, three of which were taken in completely realistic conditions.
3. I studied 3 hrs a day for 2.5 months. I used OG, Manhattan SC and an online verbal course from e-gmat.
4. 2 hrs a day for 1 month.
5. R2 deadlines.
6. My target schools are Ross, Tepper, Insead, IMD, HEC Paris, ISB (India), HKUST (Hong Kong).

There are lot of questions in my mind and I am in dire need of some expert advice. I would be extremely grateful if you may take the pain to answer some of my questions.

1. How do you access my chances in the above mentioned schools with my score of 710, WE of 6.5 years, GPA -3.5 (8.74 on a scale of 10) and average extra curricular.
2. Are there any other school where I may fit in better.
3. How much difference does a 700 make vis-a-vis a 750+ in the application process.

Thanks again,

Ankur
