I came across an old Kaplan CD/application called "Higher Score"....it has a diagnostic, bunch of practice question banks and 2 CATs, although can only be run off of Windows XP (a Windows 7 Virtual Drive in XP Mode does the trick; compatibility mode in Windows 7/8 does not work). Decent material...the format is based off of the old GMAT that had 5 sections.

What I found most useful is how little time you are given per question (somewhere between a minute and minute and a half), difficulty level may be a notch lower, but the time reduction definitely complicates things.

Has anyone taken the GMATPill free test.

I recently took it and got a dismal 620(V36Q39).
Prior to this I had taken 2 GMATPrep tests and had got 680 and 650,and then a Veritas Prep where I scored 680.I have always managed at least 48 in QA,so a 39 is difficult to get over.
Could anyone who has taken the test tell me if it is at a slightly more difficult level than the rest of the tests available on the internet.

My target was to cross 700 at least. Now, I had taken the GMATPrep test on the 29th of July where I got 680.Getting from 680 to 700+ would not be that difficult, was what I had told myself.Accordingly I had scheduled my GMAT on the 20th of Aug.
But clearly i was mistaken and am thinking of postponing the test now

I Recently gave GMAT Club's Test.

Quant section to the best of my ability seemed very tough to me.

Is Gmat Club Test LEVEL of Quant is a reflection of the questions one would see in GMAT if aiming at 700+ ??

Hey.

I am getting variable scores in Quant from various tests.
Example:
In MGMAT(3-4 tests): 45-46.
In Kaplan(3-4 tests): 49-51.
GMAT club (3-4 tests): 48-51

Is MGMAT quant tougher than the rest?

Due to my quant, my score may vary. Which score should I take as the TRUE SCORE?

Please help...

Thanks in advance...

None, can be taken as true reflector..

MGMAT- Are accurate but tough
Kaplan- Quant is little easy.(Less time consuming)
GC test- Extreme tough

On an average your true score is between 47-49, take gmat prep if you have not tried it till now.

I think i agree with GC Test level. Is everyone on the same page or maybe i need to upgrade myself here?

I want to buy Manhattan gmat test series. But i am in a dilemma.

The cost of Test series is 49$. But if i buy a Gmat Strategy Guide, say SC strategy guide, which cost me 26$, i get those test series free with it.

so should i go for a Gmat Strategy Guide to save my money ???
Both test series are same naa ??

I recently took the mock test hosted by HULT at gmat.hult.edu and powered by Economist GMAT. I would say this is the worst mock test I have ever taken. I got 7 long RC passages with 2 questions per passage. It totally messed up my timing strategy. I only attempted 4 of these passages within first 20 questions and skip all others. Moreover I got similar type of questions in a row. For instance, I got 2-3 ratio problems in a row in quant. Similarly I got two problems in a row which tested the idiom "the comparative...., the comparative...". Overall I got a recommendation of 700-740. I don't think this is representative of GMAT at all.

DebWenger, have you already already done all four of the GMATPrep practice tests? If not, those are definitely the best resource out there, and the GMATPrep Exam Pack is worth every penny. Even if you've already taken them, redoing the GMATPrep tests is probably a good idea -- the question banks are fairly large, and you'll definitely see some inflation in your scores when you retake them, but it's still worth the effort. You'll learn at least something from the experience.

Other than that… well, there are plenty of links to other GMAT practice tests in this thread. It's notoriously difficult for test-prep companies to write good verbal questions, so I would be careful not to take too many verbal practice tests from sources other than GMATPrep, but a nice mix of quant practice tests from various sources might not hurt.

Good luck with your retake!

Thanks - please do post your scores to the Estimator - I have not known anyone who got 750 or 760 on Kaplan

https://gmatclub.com/gmat-score-estimate/
As scientists say, "the plural of anecdote isn't data," but I've had a number of students hit 750 on Kaplan tests during GMAT classes I've taught, and one student who got two back-to-back 800s. We're clearly not that impossible :-)

As some have remarked that the Kaplan Tests are the toughest,I wonder whether its still the same.I took the test yesterday and got 700,which is my second highest score in my GMAT preparation.
Also, another thing that I noticed is it does not tell me my scores in non percentile form in QA and VA.For example I got 88 percentile in QA.Could someone please interpret that in terms of an actual score.I used the appendix in the OG to find out, around 49 I think. Is that the right approach?
:thanks

Cheers,
DebWenger
