you need to send it to your WL handler before 28th November to be considered along with R1 applicants

I was told to write an essay on how I’ll contribute during my time at Darden and any other updates to my profile

Ohk, so the WL handler will tell me what to write (give me the essay topic) and also the the deadline, along with whom to send it to?

And does such an essay have to be sent every time there is a significant update (but not too frequently)?

So... I just got done with my waitlist appointment and my WL manager said I can submit updates and an additional letter of recommendation. But said there’s no specific area which needed improvement. How should I interpret it?
1. My application is being seriously considered and I don’t need much help
2. My application is near the bottom of preferences and nothing will help
Need honest opinion

I don’t think they will waitlist someone if no further application updates matter. It is hard to interpret it but it seems like it is the generic answer that WL managers give out these days.

They may just be waiting to see what the results of Early Action/Round 1 decisions to fully accept you. May just be a small ding that they weren’t ready to take you on in the EA phase but after seeing results from EA and they have a larger profile from R1, you could come off

do EA waitlisted applicants receive some update during the decision dates of subsequent rounds? We are approaching 7th Dec, i.e. R1 decision date, so can we expect something?

Nope. You won’t receive anything update wise in terms of information. Your only update will come from adcom directly for either something from you or notifying of admission/denial. Other than that, nothing will be sent

It will be random. Like the person above mentioned, you will be considered in every round while you are waitlisted. So you may come off during that time. Otherwise, it may just happen. If they have a spot for you, they will notify you. Other than that, there is no expectation of when you will receive any notification. I went 7 months on the waitlist with no updates from adcom even after submitting updates
