Hello folks,
I am in the process of preparing my resume. I have been employed in the engineering consulting firm in Vancouver for the past four years. My role has been highly technical and relates to the field of Power Systems engineering and design. However, I realize that B-schools put a lot of weight-age towards leadership and management experience.
Therefore, I am concerned that my technical background will hurt my chances of gaining an admission into a good program. Can someone please guide me on how I can leverage my technical background and use it positively to craft a competitive resume.
Best,
Minhas
There are several leadership qualities to highlight even in technical filed. e.g. Teamwork, Collaboration, any innovative ideas that you implemented at work, etc. Having technical background is not a disadvantage. Thousands of applicants from technical background get admitted in Bschools every year. What matters most is how you present your accomplishments, responsibilities, and professional development.
