They certainly can. If this year has taught us anything, it is that Adcoms need to hear a compelling reason as to why you need an MBA this year. If you have a strong profile - academics/work experience/teamwork AND an urgency to be a part of what is happening/changing in business or the world, the school won’t matter as much.

Thanks for responding. I have 4 years of work ex. I have not lead projects but lead a team within a project. I have mentored associates in my team and also on nearshore. I have worked for 4 US clients( Energy, telecomm, TNC) . I have decrease the amount of time taken for people to complete there work significantly. Outside work, while I was in college I lead ACM chapters, worked as training and placement coordinator, was on the women’s basketball team, organzed and donated blood in blood drives. But because of work I cannot do much outside work, so i have joined the GPTW( great place to work ) committee and am the lead for my project. Also organized blood drives and women health checkup camps. I am a mental health advocate for the company( youhave to be selected to be an advocate) and also an ally for the LGBTQ+ community in my firm.

It’s been 4 years since I completed my undergrad, I have my Undergrad majors in Computer Science and Minor in Management, but currently I do not hold a good grip of the info I gained from my Minor as its pedagogy was dry and really not thought in the way it should be and even could not get any experiential learning. Could you let me know if I could leverage my Minor in my essays to specify the interest in taking up MBA?

For ISB Hyderabad admissions, for PGP program, if suppose the deadline for Round 1 applications is 15 Sep, then how long before we can submit the GMAT score? Is there a specific number of days before which we should submit?

I do not know that answer. I’m not as familiar with the PGP’s and the requirements.

The school has to receive the scores before the application deadline. So, count in for the time it take to get the score and send it to school.

Because msx programs are too costly?

You can reach out to 1 year full-time MBA programs like USC, Duke, Cornell or Emory in the US to see if your profile would be a good fit for their program. Alternatively, RSM is a great school for seasoned candidates in EU.

Do schools respond to profile specific queries?

Yes - email them! They have a staff that is there to answer queries. Remember that the staff are part of the admissions team, so write business professional emails, try to ask all questions in one email and don’t ask questions that have answers on their website. They love to speak with students, especially ahead of the application cycle.

I am not sure that I would reference it in this way. I would talk about one thing you learned about yourself during your minor is that you are a hands on learner that likes to play and active role in the learning process. This is what excites you about team projects and case studies at [specific school].

Ok, so thats a reason - is there a reason you need to do this now versus next year? is there anything new you have seen and want to be a part of? or an experience that led you to this - did you do something really well that highlighted why you would be good at it?

Sometimes schools will provide waivers for attending events or if application numbers are low. Beyond that they typically only waive for students with PeaceCorp or Military experience. You can always write a compelling letter asking for a waiver.
