I agree with my colleagues here. Assuming you handled the rejection properly, you won't be disqualified from reapplying. In fact, the schools may have appreciated that you didn't try to defer but instead made a decision not to attend.

If you can engage with the AdCom directly, that would be great. I'm not sure it's that easy unless you have a points of contact from the previous round you can ping.

You may also want to address your "situation" in your optional essays. You should be honest about why you didn't attend last year and why this year makes more sense. You have to give the schools some sort of certainty that you will attend this go around.

Hi guys, question: last year I applied to a couple of programs at different universities. I ended up getting an offer from all of them, but I rejected them all because of personal reasons. Now this year I want to apply again, but what are the chances that they are going to admit me again? My overall profile has increased so that is not a problem but I am worried that they might see that I rejected them last year so perhaps they won’t bother to give me an offer this year? I don’t know how this works. Thanks!

Hello tobiasbanaan,

Hope this finds you well.

As long as you were able to communicate your reason for not joining the program, appropriately, we do not see any issues in your re-applying. Good to learn that our profile has improved.

The best way to go about this is to connect with the Ad Com of the schools you are targetting.

Good luck!
