Are the majority of salespeople employed by XYZ Company commissioned?
1. The number of salespeople employed by XYZ Company exceeds the number of
employees at XYZ Company who are not salespeople.
2. The percentage of XYZ Company's salespeople who are commissioned exceeds
the percentage of employees at XYZ Company who are salespeople.
I would first try and understand the structure.
Emp ----> Sp, Nsp (Employees split into 2 mutually exclusive, exhaustive groups)
Sp ----> Com, NCom (Salespeople split into 2 mutually exclusive, exhaustive groups)
Say Emp = 100
Are the majority of salespeople employed by XYZ Company commissioned? Are Com > NCom? or is Com/Sp > 50%?
1. The number of salespeople employed by XYZ Company exceeds the number of employees at XYZ Company who are not salespeople.Sp > Nsp or we can say Sp/Emp > 50%
(e.g. 60 > 40 or 51>49 etc. Nothing about Com, NCom) Not Sufficient
2. The percentage of XYZ Company's salespeople who are commissioned exceeds the percentage of employees at XYZ Company who are salespeople.Com/Sp > Sp/Emp
No information about Sp/Emp yet. Not sufficient.
Taking both together, Com/Sp > Sp/Emp > 50%. Sufficient.
