It seems that Singapore is doing a lot better with this than most countries, yes it's possible but I think it's unlikely. I will agree, it's such a short program, even a couple months is a loss. We are all kind of bonding over a common problem, it might not be catastrophic to meet over Zoom. There are some positive reviews about it, greater participation, in some odd way it might create more intimacy seeing everyone face to face, if the classes are small. Anyways, is there a way you can further your goal with LinkedIn, online networking, like pre-pave those relationships via Skype and all that, before meeting in person? There is so much that one can do before having feet on campus.
That said, if you feel it's too risky of a proposition, I would encourage you to mention this to your AO, the opportunity cost and why virtual might put you in a distinctly negative position, and see what they have to say. I would do it before the interviews, so you don't waste anyone's time.

I applied R4 and I am doing the alumni interviews this and next week, and in case I get in I'm absolutely terrified that because of covid part of the program will be done online. I'm giving up a six figures job and aim at the Singapore campus to ideally stay long term (am European), I don't want to throw all that money to sit in my room for months taking online classes / virtual group calls with people I never met in person.
I'm guessing that (in case of acceptance) trying to defer my intake from 21J to 21D will be a no-no, and same for delaying the first down payment to see more clarity in the covid situation (not that a month would help but still)?
