Its been 3-4 months of prep. I am almost ready, just got to do a final review on my essays.

I have an alumni (2012) in Vancouver (my city) and a current student (2020) from South Africa (my home country) who both said they would review my essays and give me some advice. So the last stretch is upon us. Other than that, the references can only be done once applications open and all my other admin for application is complete.

Really nervous about the video interviews though.

Look up some questions for the interviews and start practicing in front of the computer as it is a little strange. INSEAD will send you a link after you submit your application so you can practice the videos. I wish you the very best!

Does INSEAD application have essays? If so, what are they? Can you also add them to the first post?

  • Essay 4: Discuss your short and long term career aspirations with an MBA from INSEAD. (100 words maximum)

That's a lot of essays. Thanks, uc26 for the information. Can you add a link of your previous post to the first topic so it is easily accessible without the need to scroll down?

Plus all the scholarship essays that come later. I liked their admissions process though. It was a very thorough one.

Hi guys,

I'm targeting Sept-21 intake, but I'm considering retaking the GMAT. Really, i've had so many mixed messages about this from both professionals and students. A lot of people have said 'an extra 10-20 points won't make a big difference'.

Not sure whether to repriortise on the essays and make that my focus.

It may depend on what your score is right now, and how that compares to the average GMAT (711), you want to be at close to that as possible. If you aren’t from a competitive region then going 10-20 above it won’t really matter, but if you are 40-50 points below it, bringing that up to 20-30 points below may have an impact.

You may also want to consider what the most impactful use of your time will be, investing another 100 hours into GMAT for 20 points vs investing that time into high quality essays that show your fit, the second may be more impactful if you can build a strong case for why you are what the school looks for.
