Their website says they will begin to roll out 4 weeks after deadline (this Thursday), but apparently some have gotten interview invites before then, which is making everyone a bit nervous I imagine (myself included haha)

Guys, why do we need to refresh the portal - is it confirmed that all applicants get "Application Complete" email. And has that got anything to do with interview invites? Anyone has any concrete news (and not speculation) on when will interview invites be rolled out?
Its the general lack of communication vs. other programs around the interview invite procedure thats making people (myself included) a little uncertain. Some getting full invites before others even get an 'application complete' email is a little confusing. Compare this to Wharton which stated within 24 hours of the deadline whether your app was ready for review, and in the same email said to expect decisions on October 27th. Regardless, with no communication from the adcom, we all just need to sit tight and let our minds speculate without hopefully causing any harm

I never got an application complete email, but one of the admissions staff said it was complete when I spoke to her. but haven't heard anything for weeks now, agree the lack of communication is part of the problem.

Hi guys. Some colleges have an option for additional references to be submitted if an alumni knows you well. Is there any such option in haas ?

Yes. That alumni can send a support letter to the mba admissions email (without copying you, of course)

Hi, has anybody taken the IELTS to fulfil the English language requirement? Any idea about which test is preferred by Haas- General or Academic?

For all Top MBA programs you have to take either the IELTS Academic or the TOEFL IBT. I have taken both but prefer the TOEFL, you can take it at home if your computer specs match

I just received an email saying my application file to Haas is now competed and ready for the admissions committee to review. Does anyone know what this means? I submitted my application a month ago before the round 1 deadline, so it seems a little odd.

I got that e-mail a month ago, which makes me even more nervous. 😅

After having watched this video, specifically this part, this is my speculation on the process (and its complete speculation):

1. They may not have an automated operations process that goes through apps to check that all the supporting docs are, instead they go app by app, by hand, checking that everything they need is there. Hence why we are getting "Your application is complete" emails at odd, non-uniform times.

2. Once an app is deemed complete, the email mentions that it moves to review. Watching the video, it looks like that review can take a while.

3. [Pure speculation] What I suspect is that the app allocation between the first readers and committee readers is randomized twice. Some lucky few might have their apps read relatively early by both readers, they both agree for interview, and the applicant gets notified fairly quickly. Others may not be so lucky, and have an app read the first time at the start of the process, and then much much later - but until they get alignment, their app won't progress.

Just my thoughts :)
