Thanks F95, do you have any sources for what this year prompts could look like or past year's prompts?

When does Booth roll out interview invites?
Last year, with a 24th September R1 deadline, the release date was 16 October - so roughly 3 weeks from the deadline. But I imagine thats also to do with the volume of apps which we don't know at this stage.

Is anyone aware of an additional essay they require for interview ? After my submission i received an email from Booth saying interview decisions would be rolling and if invited, we’d have to submit an additional essay of 250 words.

I thought Booth has an additional pre-interview video essay, rather than a written essay?

Hey everyone,

Wishing everyone the bet of luck next week

I need some advice, I made a stupid mistake in my second Booth essay and don't know if I should contact admissions. I forgot to delete a word from my essay. I was given an example of a recent camping trip for the essay and wrote camping canoeing trip, but meant to delete the word canoeing but didn't.

I know its a dumb problem but I really would appreciate any advice.

Should I contact admissions or might I get a pass from them on that?

I don't think there's merit to doing that. There can be more errors on the essay anyway. And even if not, what matters is that you get the story across. As long as your essay does that, I don't think this is a deal-breaker.

I've always heard advice that small mistakes like this are very likely to be overlooked by adcoms given that they would only spend 10-20 minutes on your whole app. They will however notice if you call it out. I've also heard that they don't appreciate corrections or additions after the deadline, as it was a deadline for everyone and they may simply ignore your request.

Realistically though, its more likely than not that they would have already seen your app, and won't be revisiting it for a single word - likewise, including 'canoeing' even if its out of place won't make or break your app. So I'd leave it alone if it were me.

Everyone is basing it on last year when interview invites started rolling in on the 16th I think. Not sure if Booth has come out with a date officially this year.

Their R1 submission email also said that it would be released on a rolling basis, but didn't say anything about the length of time over which they will be released, or the time of day (or if there is even a specific time of day). They did however say that we would either receive an interview invite or a deny decision. So maybe there is another email to expect later this week, or maybe we would just start seeing interview invites starting to trickle in.

Booth typically releases invites during a 1 week rolling period. Invites start on a Monday and go through Friday. On the last day of the invite week, they will release candidates not invited. Because of the holiday on Monday, I would guess invites will start Tuesday.

An interesting update this year is Booth will not call admitted applicants the day before the decision date. All final decisions will be released in December at once!

Good luck to all the new Boothies!

Great info, thanks! Do you think its likely to start this week or next given that its only been 2.5 weeks since the deadline?
