Denied admission. Profession-IB, Location- India, Chartered Accountant, CFA Charterholder, GMAT FE 715, College Bronze medalist. Can I ask for feedback on my application?

Damn I feel you. It’s very harsh to not even get a waitlist. I applied in R1 and haven’t received interview invite yet so I’m sure it’s the same outcome for me considering I am an Indian too with a similar profile and gmat score. We’ll get in somewhere though! Can only be positive

I got waitlisted too. 3.67 GPA , 330 GRE. opted for Finance because I currently have a fintech startup.
Darden is my top choice school. I have applied for an appointment, but what are my chances of getting off the waitlist? I didn’t apply to a lot of schools so I’m hoping this works out

Indian/M/very under-represented industry/family business

A current student gave it to me pretty straight - as an international coming from a fam biz (no brand names on my resume), adcoms are worried about employability. Even though I mentioned I'm returning right after the MBA, there is always a question of changing my mind during the program. I don't even know how to address this and I'm worried about my other apps. Guess you've got to come from a famous family business at this point

Not only family business candidates, but also for any candidate - is “employability” and a feasible short-term career goal the single most important factor which adcoms worry about?

I think just psychologically and experientially meeting a new person and interviewing there’s a lot more information exchange through nonverbal forms when you do this in person.

I would say if you are a friendly, warm and generally have easy time connecting with people, in person would likely be better

But if interviewing is stressful and the hassle and you want to give out less of that impression, doing it online is probably safer.

My very simplistic view...

To those who already have conducted interviews - does Darden still starts the interview with the lengthy, monologue type question? (Tell me about your story)

Hi, yes they still ask you to talk for 15-20min. They want context on your family background, where did you grow, and then go walking through your resume

be prepared to talk as monologue but in my case there was some interventions throughout the talk with some follow up questions such as why did you choose to change to this job, why did you do this course in undergrad, etc

Give some checkpoint opportunities case the interviewer wants to make one of these follow up questions

but it is a very chill and conversational interview

Doesn’t necessarily have to adhere to that range
Mine was closer to 10 mins...

Are the interview invites for R1 applicants on a rolling basis? When do they send out decisions typically?
