We do have some of people in the class of 2012 who got in off of the wait list. Don't lose hope. Good luck with your other applications.

Here are some stats via BW:

Applications (admitted and denied) to the newest class: 1,037
Applicants who were accepted to the most recent class: 33 %
Admitted applicants who enrolled in the newest class: 39 %
Applicants who were re-applicants from prior years: 3 %
Percentage of this year's reapplicants accepted: 12 %
Applicants wait-listed during the last admissions cycle: 176
Wait-listed applicants admitted for the semester to which they applied: 6

Its gonna be hard to get off the wait-list....i imagine more than 50% dropping out right away so its not as daunting as this shows but still hard regardless. WL can feel worse than a ding, dealing with the ambiguity between having little chance of admittance to almost being good enough coupled w/ not knowing until MUCH later (june or even after classes start) is painful.

Best of luck to anyone on the WL

just saw the 720 GAmer, why do you think you didn't get in? Is there something thats holding you back, (i also have a 720) I know GMAT isn't everything, but with a 720 you should be pretty competitive at emory if everything else is OK

I think bcoz i am from India , my scores would have been compared with ppl from india applying there , which is just a highly competitive pool. I was also surprised to see the WL but then we can only move on :)

Hi Gamer!!

Sorry to hear that. I believe Emory does enroll a good percentage of waitlisted applicants. I would suggest, hold tight though I know its difficult. What other schools have you applied.

My profile: 710/5.5 Ex/ Indian/3+ international ex

whats your profile?
I have applied to : Goizueta , Ross , Kenan Flagler , Duke and Olin.
How about you?

I applied in Cornell, Emory, Ross and Vanderbilt.

Got admit from Cornell, Emory and Vanderbilt
I am having tough time deciding between Cornell and Emory.

Any opinions/pointers/suggestions from the peers on GC would be helpful. Thanks!!

I'm biased. Do come to welcome weekend though and see which you like better. I'm highly involved with welcome weekend this year, and one thing that I can say without any bias is that our international students didn't realize how important welcome weekend was. A few who didn't come wish that they had attended. I won't give out any more details about welcome weekend here - we're still finalizing everything, but It will be a very good time.

I like the program at Emory a lot. I'm from NY, so certainly I can say that Cornell is very well regarded there. The weather at Emory is much nicer :).

^^^Hey JD how's it goin?
I wanted to tell him Cornell so it could open up a spot for me....(yet to hear)
I've visited both schools(and others) the "vibe" at Emory was the best. The students were all so nice. We met at a bar the night before for an informal meet and greet. Everyone was candid about choosing Emory, some had to "settle" for the school while for others it was #1. They all raved about the social experience and made it clear that no industry/sector door was closed to anyone by attending Emory.
That said, I do not think anyone would argue with the overall brand of Cornell V Emory. Cornell wins. If you wanted to do consulting in Atlanta then Emory crushes, you have to ask yourself what you want.
I know there are people that would always go name brand over a better fit....i think thats selling yourself short. Bottom line there are people with goals that align with Emory a lot better than Cornell who will be better off at the former.
Are you one of those people?

Thanks LetsGoMets!!

I will surely attend the welcome event. I need to understand the schools presence in the consulting industry. Can you please help me know the companies in which the school is listed as a core school or the companies who are actively recruiting at Emory.

Thanks!!

It's great that a current student is taking questions.

How does Goizueta fare in non-profit management. I do know that social enterprise has recently begun in Emory. How active are the non-profits or for-profit social firms in recruiting at Goizueta? What are some of the activities of 'Goizueta in the community'? Atlanta being a big city should have a fair share of active non-profits.

Thanks.

Questions about submitting transcripts:

1. Can i personally mail sealed transcripts from the overseas undergrad university I attended?
2. The grad school I attended(in the U.S.) can mail the transcripts directly to the school--is there any identification # / document that needs to go with the transcript that can function as a pointer to my application?
