Given Harvard has separate sections for awards and activities, is it advisable to still mention them on the resume? I have several more points that I could write in place of these 2 but given they are key highlights it seems odd not to mention them

Yes, you should absolutely include them on the resume. The separate awards and activities sections is an opportunity for you to draw attention to the best of the bunch. You might not want to repeat the verbiage (change it up) but other than that you should be fine.

Question on the waitlist update letter. I recently received a job offer (a more senior role at a new company) that I’m going to take. However, if I got off the HBS waitlist I would attend next fall. I’m worried that if I tell HBS about my new job they’ll take this as a red flag that I’m not serious about bschool.

^ any advice on whether I should or should not send Harvard an update letter? It’s a promotion but I’m worried that it’s a negative signal. SBCErikaOlson any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

does harvard require you to send in the official gmat scores as you finish your apps? or do they look into the self reported scores at first and require officials ones once your admitted? Other schools seem to ask for official reports when admitted but HBS seems to request one as your done with your applications

Hi all, till when can recommenders submit the LOR? One of my recommender is travelling and is asking for time till the weekend - would that be accepted? Heard it’s around 3 days for most schools

I WOULD include it in your update letter and just reiterate that you look forward to sharing what you learn from this new, more senior role at HBS, and that you are still committed to attending in Fall 2022 should you be accepted. That should cover it. Congrats!

I have always had the applicants I work with submit their scores to HBS before submitting their application materials, just like all other schools. At this point I would ensure they are sent to HBS. I would not risk your application not being complete for something like this.

Your recommenders have the exact same deadline as you do on the 4th. I would hope they would NOT wait until the last minute to upload though, in case something goes wrong.

Good luck!

Hi, can anyone confirm on what this means "The exception to this is that you need to send us official GMAT or GRE score reports, if you haven’t done so already. This is especially important if your GMAT or GRE score is set to expire in the coming months. We will contact you if we do not receive them – and we will begin to review your application with the self-reported scores."

Does it mean that I should send in my report from GRE

I am pretty sure that I heard at an admission info session a couple weeks ago that HBS allows a 3-day grace period for recommenders. But please email/call them to confirm.

Same here! So much build up and hard work only to submit it and realize, “well, that’s probably the end of the road for this application!” 😆 but crazier things have happened and somebody will win the HBS lottery so at least we tried!
