🔥 **ROAST MY MBA SCHOOL LIST** 🔥

Think your MBA shortlist is perfect? Let's see what the group thinks 😂

Drop your current shortlist below and let the group **respectfully roast it**.

For each school, mention:
🏫 School
🎯 Why you're applying
💼 Target career after MBA
💰 Scholarship / budget considerations (optional)

Then everyone else can:
👇 **Challenge one choice**
👍 **Defend one school**
🔥 **Suggest one school they think you're missing**

**Example:**
LBS — Consulting + London
ISB — Consulting / Finance + India
NUS — Asia exposure
Oxford — Brand + international career

No personal attacks — **roast the shortlist, not the person.** 😂

Let's see whose shortlist survives the roast. 👀

*HBS R1 is 16 days out - the mechanics people get wrong* ⏰

📅 Round 1: Wednesday, September 9, 2026, *12:00 PM ET* - that's noon, not midnight. In India that's *9:30 PM IST on Sept 9*.
📅 Decision: December 10, 2026
📅 Round 2: January 5, 2027 (decision March 25, 2027)

Three things worth knowing now:
• Anything submitted after the R1 deadline is simply read in R2. You can apply in only one round, once per application year.
• No GMAT/GRE waivers. You must have taken the test by the deadline.
• Unofficial scores are fine at submission, but you still have to request that your official score be sent to HBS.

Official score to be sent before the deadline?

other schools offer flexibility of sharing the score through GMAC after the admission results are announced.

Following up on Saturday's question about score reports and superscoring 👇

*Multiple GMAT/GRE attempts and the new Superscore - what actually counts at HBS* 📊

Came up in the group, so here's what the official sources say.

• HBS Admissions: "If you submit multiple test scores from GMAT or GRE to HBS, we will only look at the score from your highest single test sitting." So extra reports don't hurt you - they just don't get combined. Your best *single sitting* is the number in play.
• GMAT Superscore (launched by GMAC in June 2026) is generated automatically from your best section scores across attempts. It's a GMAC product, not a school policy. A superscore existing doesn't mean a given school evaluates on it - HBS's published position is still highest single sitting, and their portal's own wording says don't mix sub-scores when self-reporting.
• Practical read: self-report your best single sitting exactly as it appears on that report, and if you want certainty on your specific case, email MBA Admissions - they reply.

*What HBS actually asks your recommenders* 📝

A question came up on the forum feed today - what do HBS referees get asked? Here's the full picture from the live Class of 2029 application:

• Two recommendations required. HBS suggests (doesn't require) that one comes from a direct supervisor; the other should speak to your professional performance, leadership skills and potential
• A ratings grid across ~20 attributes grouped under Business-Minded, Leadership-Focused and Growth-Oriented - the same three themes as this year's essays - plus a required 150-word comment on the ratings
• Two written answers, submitted as one document:
1. Specific examples of how your performance, potential, background or personal qualities compare to other well-qualified people in similar roles (recommended 300 words)
2. The most important piece of constructive feedback they've given you - the circumstances and how you responded (recommended 250 words)
• An overall rating vs peers, from "Below Average" up to "The best I have encountered in my career"
• The form also asks recommenders to disclose whether they used AI in completing the recommendation

Takeaway: brief your recommenders early. The feedback question is the one weak letters fumble - a genuine example of how you took feedback and changed is exactly what the AdCom wants to read.

*HBS interviews - what actually happens if you get the invite* 🎤

From HBS's official application process page:

• Interviews are by invitation only, at the Admissions Board's discretion. If you are invited, you have to interview to complete the process.
• 30 minutes with an MBA Admissions Board member who has already read your application. This is unusual - the interviewer knows your file, so expect questions tailored to your essays and resume, not generic ones.
• Format: on campus, in hub cities, or on Zoom. HBS is explicit that neither the timing of your invite nor the format says anything about your candidacy.
• The part people forget: within 24 hours of the interview you must submit a written post-interview reflection through the application portal. It goes into your file, so treat it like a third essay.

An invite is a positive signal, not a guarantee. Knowing the 24-hour reflection rule now is the real edge - most people hear about it the day before.
