Hey guys,
I started drafting the essays for the application and was wondering if there are any who are targeting the early decision round which is due Sep 4th. Also I couldn't find essay prompt analysis anywhere yet, so wondering if anyone has made any progress.
There are the below two questions in the prompt. Wondering what the school is expecting from the first question.
Essay Question I: How do you expect to be changed by your experience at IESE and what impact you would like to make after your MBA? (word limit 300 max)
Essay Question II: What are your short and medium term post MBA career goals and how will IESE help you achieve them? (word limit 300 max)
I actually drastically reduced my communication with the adcom for my region. I already know the answers to most of my questions, and contacting someone too much comes over as insecure. I did write my optional essay to address my personality, my directness and how I’ve been working on it.
Thanks Tarun ! I did go through it . Couldn’t really figure out if indian students do qualify for a waiver . I have completed bachelors from an indian university in English and work in an American company with international clients . Does that qualify for a waiver . Wanted to check with others applying .
Hey Rengana! I had a degree from the US so didn't have to worry. From what appears through the link, it seems you should be good but I wouldn't depend on peer advice on this.
I would be inclined to agree. just check your bachelor transcripts. if the transcripts state you have done your bachelor in english, you're good to go (regardless, contacting your Adcom won't hurt, that's why they're there)
So, update from my side I just got my Interview invite by email for next Friday.
As I'm a re-applicant I've also been requested to attend Assessment day, and since there is none planned for ED, I will have that one on November 17, together with the round 1 applicants.
this means i'll get my Admissions decision by December 4th
Congrats on the invite. That's a great first step.
Question - does that mean all ED round applicants will have to wait for R1 AD day since there are none to attend with for ED round? I'm sure you will not be able to answer for everyone but just trying to see if you are able to get any insights from your invite email.
actually, my email did not provide the insights. I called them due to the fact that the assessment day date was after the supposed ED decision date.
I guess there will be 3 cases (this is a guess): - reapplicants: yes i guess they move to R1 for their decision since there does not appear to be an ED AD, so they join R1 AD = december 4 decision - 1st time applicants: interviewed, but the Admissions committee wants to know more about you --> get invited to R1 AD = december 4 decision - 1st time applicants: interviewed, and the admissions committee feels they know enough to accept/deny --> no invitation = october 19 decision
Hey Aeon86, do they give an option for the interview mode? I mean I see admission directors traveling across. Would they give an option to have it in person or via Skype?
I know those are options, but I believe they only get offered if you are truly far or get back to them to let them know you cannot meet their interview date.
Would be happy to, but with such strong willingness you are showing to be a part of IESE, I'm sure you will get in this time.
They actually gave me 3-4 choices to choose from for the interview date. I chose 28th. Mine is Webex, although I was hoping for an in-person interview since I believe I can make better conversation in person.
