During an admissions event they mentioned that due to COVID, the interview might be stretched to 1st or even 2nd week of Feb and they inform only 7 days prior so hope for the best

Hi guys, I know my question will be a context switch as most of it is about the anxiety around the ISB admit. I am starting my prep for GMAT this month and my main focus is ISB 2023. Any suggestion on the best GMAT prep and things I need to keep in mind while applying to ISB as I have some time I can work on it. Thank you and hoping that y’all get your call.

Hi Rags95
We are glad that you have started thinking through and we can shed some light on the question here. :)
We would say a 700+ score is a decent take for ISB and this year the deadlines were Sept 12 , Dec 5 & Jan 30.
To crack through this B-school, we suggest you to make sure that your Quant and Verbal score are at place and can help you consolidate to 700+ overally.

Here are a few pointers before you jump into the GMAT prep:-
Use the RIGHT RESOURCES
We would suggest you to stick to ONLY OFFICIAL tests and OFFICIAL practice questions.
Your time is precious and should be invested only on OFFICIAL materials.
Once you have completed the OG,you can use the Official Advanced Questions Doc(with 150 Verbal and 150 Quant) and analyze the errors made.

Smash the EASY and the INTERMEDIATE
To have a good score, it is important that you not only get these questions correct in both Verbal and Quant but you also get them correct like a Marvel Superhero :upsidedown - Meaning with precise accuracy, jet speed and with complete confidence. You have to up your skills to smash them in under 90 seconds.Breaching the Q46 and the V30 implies you have bridged the Conceptual gaps.

Improve ACCURACY in the ADVANCED questions
Now since you have got the time on your side by implementing the previous pointer effectively, enter the next level of Optimization!
Use the time that you saved in the easy and the intermediate questions to invest on the challengers! This will increase your chances of getting them right and will also not cost you any additional time that would otherwise put you under stress. The more you get correct in this section, the better your chances of having a great 700+ !

Be CONFIDENT on your responses
Do not overthink once you have made the plunge and attempted the question.
Correct or incorrect, that will only affect your psyche and prevent you from being the best version of YOU!
We know, its easier said than done but these differentiators would tell between a GMAT taker and a GMAT 700+ scorer! :)

Think about it this way,if you have an experimental question that doesnt seem very difficult to you,you may doubt your performance and your low confidence will affect the others and this time the investment of focus is really a nasty one because there are NO returns on this.
You would lose focus and for literally no reason. You are psychogically tricked! :dazed
Indeed, our super powerful brain has an extra ordinary quality. It works best when it works against us! :)
Self doubts, overthinking, low confidence,...and the list would go on!
So learn CONTROLLING your thoughts and make the powerful organ work in your favour. :)

NO ALTERNATE to a sharp focus
You have to be in it to WIN it
You have to stay in the moment ,focus intensively on the question stub, on the data, on the options, on the rooms of all logical perspectives and remember, on the GMAT, most of the time its not about actually solving it but recognizing the RIGHT answer choice.

Managing QUANT and VERBAL
Wohhh! Too many pointers already. Guess you are tired??
We hope not because you have lengthy RCs and stubborn Quant Questions to solve back to back in one single paper
Maintaining mental stamina and an effective thought process as you solve the questions without succumbing to the burnout is our last pointer.
Practicing full length tests without breaks will help you build up on it.

Now how can WE help you??
Let try to answer this question exhaustively.

Crackverbal Online course is curated and designed to help students learn at their own pace in the most optimized and effective way.
With the launch of our new product, all you have to do is login, declare your GMAT dead line and follow the study plan!
Invest your precious time in "thinking through" the problems and not "planning the entire process".
We provide three specific products each for a certain kind of student requirement.

1. On-Demand :
This particular product is for students who want to learn at their own pace through pre recorded content. However, there are a lot more addons to the On Demand Course and not just the pre-recorded videos.

(a)You are provided with a study plan(based on your deadline) and Course videos cover the concepts according to the study plan.

(b)You also have OG Tests(the complete OG broken down into section tests and that too with levels of difficulty). Not only that,we also
provide you the video solutions of these OG Test Questions.
Our brain functions quite differently under the stress of a timer and when it knows that the performance would provide a metric of
measuring progress and GMAT readiness. So keeping that in mind, we have added the OG questions as tests for YOU.

(c)If you have exhausted the OG, you would want additional practice and we have a set of 600+ questions for you to practice
additionally(with solutions). These tests are divided sectionally for both Verbal & Quant and with varying levels of difficulty.

(d)You also get to experience Prepathon-a 60 min session with questions that challenge you and assess your prep every week. Its a
point of live interaction with the faculty and all like minded students who are preparing it.

(e) You can also connect with the faculties one to one by booking a meet through calendly at a time thats convenient to you!We do
not believe in isolated practice. So even when you opt for an OnDemand course we would provide you with the additional sessions
for live interaction with the faculty and the rest of the people like you!

(f) Since we perform best in an undistracted atmosphere we would push you to attend the Deep work sessions
and have an immersive experience of working with us as you develop your cognitive abilities.

(g) AMA sessions where you can pitch in your study issues, prep issues and infact ask anything to the faculty is designed to keep your
prep doubt free and smooth.

2. Live@Home:

The Weekend sessions are direct points of contact where you learn the course, acquire GMAT essential concept and Application
understanding on the weekends with the faculty and other students. They are high Octane sessions of learning on real time with the
faculty and asking doubts then and there. The sessions are curated to transmit the GMAT centric knowledge in a simple and effective
manner to help you walk through the Optimized Learning Pathway(OLP). You get to access the session recordings after the session
for a 7 day period.
Along side, you also get to experience all other facilities listed for the On Demand Course.

3.ScoreUp
The third and the most premium product is the ScoreUp where you sign up for a one to one guided assistance with the mentor.
It is designed to handhold you at your pace. You would also receive the session recordings and the Practice Tests as a part of the
Product. The faculty would guide you one to one, close your concept gaps, close on the strategic application gaps and all along answer
your doubts as you experience them.

The CrackVerbal GMAT online course is created based on our experience of teaching more than thousands of classroom students and it's designed to help the busy working professionals crack the GMAT in their first attempt.

ISB is honestly so wierd with its schedule, classes from April (only fall session) unlike other top Bschools, and still struggling to declare results/complete admissions due to this right schedule. Add to that, the first 1-2 months are offcampus (?) of the already short but India’s most expensive MBA program.

Additionally, it’s a huge inconvenience to the working professionals who can’t plan their transition.

I understand the school wants to protect its yield conversion but it’s off-putting.

They are smart business minds .. they know how to earn money from people who are waiting for US results and selected in ISB

I had reached out to the admission team enquiring if any more interview invites can be expected and this is what they responded :

"Thank you for reaching out to the ISB admissions team.

The interview process is still going on. The interviews for round 2 will happen till mid of Feb. The result will be announced by the end of February.
"

So I guess those who haven't received interview invite yet can keep their hopes alive until the next week.

Also, I was analyzing R1 & R2 numbers and this is what can be seen in the "Decision Tracker"
- R1 : Total applications 289, Candidates Interviewed 251. So roughly 86% candidates were called for interviews.
- R2 : Total applications 133, Candidates Interviewed 97
So as per "R1" logic, around 10-12 more invites can be expected. However, I guess R2 Total applications has R3 candidates as well. So may be only 7-8 invites will be coming till next week.
