hi everyone, can any of you tell me where we are supposed to fill out the section for interview location, first heard about ISB, etc? I couldn’t see it in any of the sections but it shows up in the "preview application" section

Hi, can anyone please evaluate my profile for ISB ’24 intake. Or if yes, shall i try even further for hbs, wharton, stanford & insead. GMAT 760, 4 years as career diplomat(IFS), 31YO currently, worked as third secretary in Paris & Turkey, GATE two digit AIR a few years ago, CFA level 1, CAT 99.82%ile a few years ago, worked in RBI & SEBI earlier as AM, IIT-B Mtech admit a few years ago. Downsides: Tier 3 undergrad in Btech-CS with 7 cgp, 2 years gap due to CSE prep. And 1 year gap between, 12th & grad

Hi, you have an extra ordinary profile. You will definitely get into ISB, hands down. Only concern will be the justification of MBA. What exactly you want to achieve out of this exercise?

Recommender has written a really short LOR, barely 100 words per prompt. She’s mentioned some good points but not elaborated much. I’m writing some recommendations on improving it, hopefully will be complete in time.

Thankyou! A few things tho, how’d you compare a recommendation from someone from the public sector domain.. say a Counsellor Director at Ministry of External Affairs, to the common profit making firm’s heads (VCs, Product, Finance etc) ? Also, how do you think the unversities view transitioning from public sector to business side. Advantage or disadvantage?

Reduction in impact and power of bureaucracy going ahead is the primary reason. Monotony amongst some other few. How will it be justified? Yet to be figured.

Most schools outside India require two recommendations. So use both! For ISB, I’d the one where you’ve worked with them more closely. Stature-wise both are almost equal while the former offers more diversity. Universities are open to transitions toward pvt sector, a number people have done that. Important to figure out- why you want to move out and where you want to head.
