I had my interview today at Bangalore. The interview experience, in my opinion, was very different from the established opinion in this club of the interview being conversational. Quite grilling. Not breezy.
Can you please elaborate

This grilling experience was especially common among most of the Bangalore peeps I talked to at the interview location.

Yes the narrative here depicts a false picture and over generalises the interview experience. It varies a lot and can be grilling many a times.

How exactly does the grilling happen?
Like, can someone elaborate?
Also, can we expect case studies/guesstimates?

From what I have heard from a few applicants, and few of the netizens of GMATClub- they say grilling is cross questioning, delving into 3-4 layers and prodding for more details. It could be sometimes one or two members of the panel stating subtly or bluntly about their disbelief in the "claims" the applicant has made in their application, lack of connection in their goals, etc.

Basically anything that throws you off during the interview when you walked in expecting to have a peaceful conversation. For some it is going 3-4 levels deeper, for others it could be something totally different.

It's subjective. But this is the gist.

And no idea about guesstimates or case studies. I didn't get either.

Hi, I’ve 4.5 years of development consulting experience from a big 4, decent undergrad score, but have a 680 GMAT. I’m planning to retake by jan end, was wondering should I apply with the existing score or apply after I retake?

If you feel you had a bad day on the date of the GMAT, give it again and apply in R2. If you feel it was a conceptual/practice issue that can be solved with more time/effort, figure out if one month is sufficient time for you to practice. If yes, still apply in R2. If you need much more time/ are currently busy but sure that you can increase your score by 20-30 points if given sufficient time, apply in R3.

If it does not come by tomorrow midnight, it most probably isn’t coming for this weekend.

No, it will not change. It will show the same details. The next time it will change is if you get an admit/waitlist, as far as I know.

Is R3 equivalent to applying in R2?
