Stellar profile

I, too, come from the automotive auxiliary industry in product and process design (pre-MBA) and hope I can provide meaningful advice.

Your leadership skills and "growth progression" will be most interesting to the schools. Since you are relatively more experienced, the schools will want to know more about your professional and personal development over the past 6 years.

I assume you have solid development to production launch experience in developing product/material concepts, creating design specifications, testing prototypes, troubleshooting procurement and process issues, and working with teams at all levels for a successful launch. If you are interested in consulting, you can leverage your passion for your current role/industry and express a desire to expand operations strategy for clients in a top management consulting firm or a strategic role in an industry-focused company. If you are interested in moving into e com or startups in senior positions, you would be a great fit for roles in supply chain analytics, product design, supply chain network design, and planning. MBA essays are all about passion; they are about how ready you are to change some problem in the world or to seize an opportunity. To address this point well, your passion has to reflect through your goals narrative.

Showcase your strong leadership skills through stories where you helped resolve conflicts, expedited projects that were trusted with more significant responsibilities over and over again, motivated team members or external stakeholders to keep projects on time, influenced senior management with your insights to take a particular stand on decisions, and saved resources for the company.
I can already see great potential for going deeper into the themes of supplier management and cost optimization.

Feel free to connect should need professional advice for applications or interviews.

Of course it’s difficult. The merit based ones are based on the quality of your application and interview performance. A high gmat usually helps or a diverse background. There are a few others that are comparatively easier. At&T, need-based, etc.

Hello ISB Aspirants,

As we are approaching the R1 deadlines, I want to help out few candidates by reviewing their essays. I am planning to hold 1-2 sessions and provide chat support. I am willing to do this only for candidates who are very serious about ISB. Also, in order to ensure that we respect each other's time, I will be charging a very nominal fees.

In case you are interested kindly drop a short 4-5 sentence description to [email protected], and I will try to reach out to few of you.

A short description about myself - I am a recent graduate from ISB and received a 100% merit scholarship from the school. I was also awarded the school's most prestigious Chairperson's Award for the Best All-Rounder and was a Director in the Graduate Student Body.

Hi Satyaraj,
Your GMAT score is really good. The academic scores are well above average. The college really doesnt matter that much. Although naming your college would have been better than saying non-NIT non-IIT. Saying so, it shows less positive frame of mind. You have good experience mix of IT plus govt service. This diverse experience can be showcased as your one of the strengths. You can clearly highlight your large manpower and responsibility handing as inspector of posts. This job itself has multiple aspects which can add value to your profile.

Without knowing about extra curriculars and other details and achievements of your job, this is what can be said. But having said that, profiles dont matter much unless they are truly exceptional. You have great GMAT score, if you portray your USPs decently in application and perform decent enough in interviews, you will qualify easily.

Just go ahead with application, it wont be much difficult for you to get into ISB.

Hi Satyaraj,

GMAT and acads are well sorted.

Your combination of private sector software engineering experience and government service reflects diversity in your professional background. Additionally, your role as an Inspector of Posts is an extremely strong operations experience in one of the oldest and largest government machinery in India. The essay topics for ISB application do give you ample opportunity to speak about unique aspects of your profile. So go ahead and tell your story.

Some aspects you have not told us about are the extracurriculars, assuming that there's not much here, you might have enough to show your leadership skills from work itself.

All the best!

Satyaraj
