I am confused whether to switch to GRE, since the verbal pf GRE seemed way difficult. Mugging up word bank vs actually understanding meaning of passage is different game
I thought GMAT verbal is very dry and boring. Gre is much more varied and easy to focus

10 CR questions takes the life out of me

Couple of things more about the standardized tests:
A- There is no preference for one test over the other.
B-there is no negative if you are writing your test multiple times. Your best score, not super score, will be considered for admission
C-A good score will not guarantee admission. However, a bad score will definitely be the reason for rejection :)
D- A good school will help you fetch a handsome amount of scholarships if you apply in early rounds. P.S. Indian schools don't offer scholarships. So, please don't be so hopeful here.
In 50K, we help applicants apply to ISB. There will be two sessions with ISB alumni on the strengths and pitfalls of your candidacy. Do reach out to us at [email protected] for early enrollments, since we also have our bandwidth limitation.

Last year, I have placed one candidate in Columbia with GRE of 335, one in the Yale with a GRE of 336. This Yale guy was working in Amazon as a product manger after obtaining his degree from DTU. There are so many others. I see the candidates are also getting admitted to ISB, IIM A, IIM B and IIM Shillong with GRE score. this perception of preferring GMAT over GRE was there five-six years back, I believe, but not now. If you trawl down most of the schools's websites, most of the schools will say in clear words that there is no preference of one test over the other.
I will avoid getting into detailed justification.

All I want to say with due respect to your experience is

*A point in case can NOT be taken as a point in General.*

_Half-stories (with so much between the lines) hurt more candidates every year._

GRE 335 and 336 scores are exceptional scores, so such stories should not be generalised.

Just get the percentage of acceptance rate of GRE candidates and compare it will percentage of GMAT candidates (with equivalent GMAT score) and see the acceptance rate.

*Food for thought: How many candidates in ISB are engineers who got admitted with GRE?*

If you get an answer through your network then you will have the validation of my claim. :)

I just spoke with Amit, the admission officer of ISB. What he said. I am quoting: there is no data that ISB is publishing in this case. However, 20%-30% of the 401 engineers in the PGP class have submitted GRE scores. So, that number is around 150-180.

for ISB GMAT will be enough but if you are going for 2 year MBA then this 1 year experience is fine but if you are planning for 1 year PGP program then u need 2 years of experience minimum

and your score should be minimum 665 and so on

in GMAT
   1  ...  85   86   87   88   89  ...  663
