Hi everyone,
I am looking for an honest profile evaluation for ISB PGP Class of 2029 and guidance on what GMAT Focus score I should target.
• B.Com from Ramjas College, University of Delhi – CGPA 8.83/10
• Class XII (CBSE) – 98.4% (District Rank 1)
• Class X (ICSE) – 94.3%
• CBSE Merit Certificate for being among the top 0.1% in select subjects
• Multiple NCFM certifications
Work experience so far:
Allianz Partners (Jan 2023 – Sept 2023) -( 8 months )
Worked as a Sales Associate in travel insurance operations. Consistently maintained 98%+ quality scores, handled customer escalations, cross-selling, upselling and received recognition for performance. Licensed in 3 Canadian provinces.
MAAC (Oct 2023 – May 2025)
Completed an Advanced Program in Digital Media Creation covering Graphic Design, 3D Modelling, Product Visualization, UI/UX and related creative disciplines.
Family Business (May 2025 – Present) ( over 1 year)
Joined my father’s catering and hospitality business and currently work across three family-run establishments. My responsibilities include:
* Designing client-facing assets and branding materials
* Managing social media strategy
* Facilitating communication with NRI clients
* Supporting backend operations and coordination
* Working on strengthening the overall brand presence of the business
Alongside this, I am further continuing advanced training in 3D animation and product visualization with the goal of starting an independent freelancing studio in hard surface modelling and product visualisation by year end.
Leadership and extracurricular highlights include:
* Editor-in-Chief, Finance & Investment Society, Ramjas College
* Event Head, Commerce Fest
* Enactus Ramjas (Top 8 nationally)
* Multiple wins and podium finishes in national-level business plan, writing and public speaking competitions
* Social impact initiatives involving transgender communities and environmental volunteering
A few questions I would love feedback on:
1. How competitive is my profile for ISB PGP Class of 2029?
2. How will ISB view the transition from commerce to design/3D and then into a family business role?
3. Does the family business experience strengthen my application, or will it be viewed less favorably than traditional corporate experience?
4. What are the biggest gaps or concerns in my profile?
5. What GMAT Focus score should I target for:
* Competitive chances
* Strong chances
* A profile that stands out
6. What profile-building activities would provide the highest return before applying?
7. Based on my background, what post-MBA role would be the best fit?
I was initially inclined toward Brand Management because of my interest in design, storytelling, visual communication and consumer engagement. However, I am open to understanding whether roles such as Product Management, Marketing Strategy, Consulting, Digital Transformation, Entrepreneurship or General Management may be a better fit for my profile.
Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
P.s. - Maac course was an advanced diploma. Sorry for putting it in the work experience section.
