Hi all.
Just wanted to know that as I am practicing questions, I am able to solve medium level (605-655) questions. But I am getting very few hard level (655-705) questions correct. I dont know if Gmat club questions are generally harder or am I dumb. Has anyone gone through this as well? Will I be able to score above 670 with this? I am getting really worried. Exam is in 1 month.

Hi @MakB

Getting command over these two difficulty levels is a must if you are targeting a Q85 or above to get the target GMAT score...

Some questions in that difficulty level might be tough but many of them are still medium difficulty level.

Q has 21 question and a performed who ends up with Q85 gets about 14 Medium, and 7 (Easy+Hard) questions.

Reiterating: Getting all Easy and Medium is a MUST for getting a Q-85 or more.

All the best with your journey! It is best to submit when your profile is ready - both in terms of score & essays. R3 typically inclines towards niche profiles and chances of scholarship drop significantly.

Don’t apply to R3 ever. Go only for R1 (high chance), or R2 (intermediate chances since WL kicks in and competition from R3 folks also). Only go for R3 if you have exceptional spikes in your application, like a very high GMAT score (100%-ile) or a couple of certifications (CFA Level I/II/III etc)

Your suggestion is absolutely correct

And I am sure you intend well for others, with due respect, I am just correcting the reasoning based on a fact which is

R3 has always accepted candidates with score of *625* with _nothing_ *exceptional* but just good persona (in interviews), good application, well crafted goals with clarity and good experience. (It happened in 2026 and 2025) both candidates (M and F) from consulting companies with 4 years experience. And those are cases which are personal to me. I am sure there many more such cases.

R3 may be a natural choice for those who are still trying to give best to their application even after R2. But yes, if the circumstances don’t push you to delay then R1 is the best choice followed by R2, further followed by R3...

Apply when you are at your best...

B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, IIT Roorkee (2024) – CGPA: 7.0/10
Completed a Management Minor during my B.Tech

Work Experience

12 months of international work experience in Japan as a Product Operations Analyst + Software Development Engineer.
Worked across product operations, analytics, backend development, stakeholder management, and cross-functional coordination.
Collaborated with Japanese teams on mission-critical industrial software and process improvement initiatives.

Achievements

NTSE Scholar
Selected among the Top 6 employees in my company for an official recognition.
Represented my company at the Indian Consulate General in Kobe, Japan during an official event.
Received recognition for my final-year engineering project (among the top projects in the department).

Hi @Krishna8877, You should target 685+ to counter slightly lower undergrad score. Overall your profile has all the components to be shortlisted at much lower score infact. Also, scores are asked to judge the aptitude of the candidate. Being from IITG, you cover that aspect to a great extent, CGPA may not be such a big issue. But still to be safe, as the competition is intense, targeting slightly above class average will add lot of weight to your application. Final selection will depend upon what you do on the day of the interview. But shortlisting should not be an issue at 685+. Hope it helps.

Hi everyone,

I would really appreciate an honest evaluation of my profile for ISB PGP.

Profile:

* Gender: Female
* 10th: 9.8 CGPA
* 12th: 81.8%
* B.Tech: 8.24 CGPA
* Work Experience (at the time of application): ~2.5 years
* Clarivate – Research Engineer (Patents): 9 months
* Capgemini – Cisco TAC Network Engineer: ~1 year 9 months

I am currently preparing for the GMAT.

I have a few questions:

1. How competitive is my profile for ISB PGP?
2. What GMAT Focus score should I target to be competitive?
3. Is 2.5 years of work experience on the lower side, or is it sufficient for ISB admissions?
4. What areas of my profile should I strengthen before applying (leadership, extracurriculars, certifications, essays, etc.)?
