You are underestimating yourself.
If you have worked on quality assurance and analytical testing to ensure regulatory compliance and product quality for manufacturing operations, and have contributed to translating R&D initiatives/discoveries into scalable, market-ready solutions, that is great experience to have for pursuing strategy and operations roles in pharma or biotech. Your knowledge of regulatory requirements would make you a special asset to bring value in discussions around which products or services to focus on and which partnerships to enter into.
In consulting too, you can choose a focus area and pivot into industry leadership roles. There's a lot to be done in streamlining supply chains, integrating digitalisation, and ensuring health solutions get to the right group in a timely manner. I am speaking from experience, as I have had mentees from pharma consulting, pharma/biotech industrialisation, as well as pharmacovigilance getting into ISB and IIM A PGPX in India and even to M7s in the US.

himanigoyal Frankly, as a CA, you don’t need an MBA per se to get into finance. But yes, if you are unable to hack growth opportunities on your own, an MBA from a good B-school can give you an impetus career-wise. The issue is that many CAs in relatively niche taxation areas end up being pigeonholed and find it difficult to break away on their own. In case you haven’t tried already, you may look for business finance roles or FP&A roles within startups that are in a good growth phase and can take a bet on someone who is motivated. Otherwise, an MBA can give you an entry point into more strategic roles/consulting. Happy to give you advice one-on-one should you reach out.
