How have you guys thought about post mba path clarity in your application
Very important point. Having clarity on post-MBA goals is more crucial than applicants often think.

Note that once you have mentioned your post-MBA path in your essays, you would not have a chance to change your goals during the interview.

Hence, if you mention a post-MBA career path that is completely mis-aligned with your educational and professional experiences, you would not be able to defend your career goals in the interview. More often than not, this inability to defend your career goals during the interview translates into a straight reject.

Hello! Please provide me an honest profile evaluation:

Class 10 - 94.8% (ICSE, 2017)

Class 12 - 95.4% (CBSE, 2019)

Pursued my Integrated M.Tech. in Computer Science (UG + PG), Batch of 2019-24 at the University of Hyderabad. Gold Medallist with 9.67/10 GPA. Published research papers in IEEE and Springer. Served as Class Representative throughout the five years, along with Student Placement Coordinator and Teaching Assistant in my final year (2023-24). Won IoE (Institute of Eminence) Achiever’s Awards for being top of my class in two consecutive semesters. Won the GE HealthCare’s HACK’E’LTH Hackathon, and was part of the top 50 teams in the Amazon ML Challenge. Was the quarter-finalist of the intra-university Table Tennis tournament.

Currently working at a global asset management firm as an Advanced Data Scientist I. Started out as a Tech Strategy Associate in 2024, got promoted to Data Scientist I in June 2025, and then a double promotion to my current role in Feb 2026 (skipped Data Scientist II). As part of my role, I’ve led delivery of AI Agents to business partners - (i) Tax Invoice Analysis Agent to automate extraction of information such as overall tax breakdown, invoice number, VAT ID etc. This led to 150+ hours and INR 370K of savings for the Indirect Tax Team (ii) Compliance Review Agent to review sales PPTs for their adherance to the firm’s design standards. With this agent, the process now takes 2 days, down from 1 week.

As part of my current role, I have also mentored graduate trainees and interns throughout the project lifecycle, conducted a hackathon to hire fresh graduates, spoken at internal meetups to enlighten non-tech employees about GenAI concepts and trends, and presented best practices and standards of GenAI development to senior technology leadership - which steered the course of the organization’s AI strategy.

I currently have a GMAT Focus 715 (Q 90, V 85, DI 82).

Post MBA, I’d like to pursue Product Management.

There are many promising aspects of your profile that include your stellar academic, very good GMAT score, amazing impacts at work and your extracurricular

What’s short is
1) Years of experience to show as you would have less that three years of experience at the time of joining
2) the pitch for “Why did you join and integrated technical degree and how come so soon you figured that MBA is your calling now?”

Everything else is good. It’s too soon to be optimistic about your conversion, but you have everything that you could control, on your side. So I would say that you should put all in and wait to see the outcome ...

Honestly academics wise you are obviously very able.

Work ex wise you are obviously on the lowest end of spectrum

Furthermore when you are good technically you need to be very aware of
why you need an MBA now, why Product Management specifically, and what kind of product leader you want to become.

Profile Evaluation – ISB PGP YL 2027

Hi everyone, I’m looking to get my profile evaluated for the ISB PGP YL 2027 intake.

Profile:

* 10th – 91%
* 12th – 88%
* UG – 9.2 CGPA (BBA)
* Rank 2 in BBA
* Merit & Extracurricular Scholarship
* ServiceNow – Summer Internship, Program Management
* D. E. Shaw & Co. – Financial Research Associate (June 2025 – June 2026)
* Current: Senior Associate, Founders’ Office, Central Strategy & Operations team (June 2026 – Present)
* Part of a 4-member central team supporting an organisation with 1,400+ employees
* Event Head / leadership experience
* Won approximately 4–5 case competitions
* Will have ~2 years of full-time work experience by June 2027

I’d appreciate your views on just two things:

1. On a scale of 1–10, how strong would you rate my overall profile for getting an interview call for ISB PGP YL?
2. What GMAT Focus/GMAT score should I ideally target to have a realistic shot at an interview call?

For GMAT score
Refer to the current batch profile
I’ve know folks who got rejected (without an interview call) with a 9/9/8 and 715 GMAT FE. So wanted to get a target score based on my profile.

Honestly
It’s *very hard* to _not_ get an invite for interview after 715 and such academics.

There must be something in essay or form entries that led to this heartbreaking outcome 💔
