Calling all Jones(Rice) MBA Applicants: 2023 Intake [Class of 2025]

Submitted my Application on 7th October (a couple of hours before deadline) >> Got Video Assessment on 25th (Completed on 27th) Oct >> Got Community assessment/Interview email invite on 30th Nov and Scheduled it for 2nd December (2:00 PM CST - Probably last slot) >> Current Status Awaiting Decision.

Work Experience - 7 Years
GMAT/GRE - Waiver Approved

anyone received call? I am not sure if it is ongoing or not..

I got my status changed to "Decided" at 8.40am CST. Still havent got anything yet.

Who all from India have received their decisions ?

Do they really release decisions by batches? and the metric for each batch is location? It doesnt seem making sense to me why they release decisions based on locations.

well the general idea is to give internationals call first due to the late night, and giving the same time fram (decision date) before applicants go to sleep at late night. But now we are way beyond that

Things have been changing quickly after the pandemic and great resignation (lots of adcom members changed in the last 12 months), and everything else. Schools are short staffed these days, and often the traditional experience is not what we end up with for the decision day. 😬🤩

This has been the pattern for the last 10 years before the pandemic. The reason it was location-based was not because of the location but the time zones. Admissions like to congratulate you on the phone (probably the most fun part of the job) and so they would use the morning to call the international locations that they could reach and then transition to calling the US.

Since the pandemic and shortages of labor, and everyone being overworked, many schools have gone to sending out a zoom invite for all of the international candidates, but still calling the US candidates.

Harvard has moved to releasing all decisions at the same time a couple years ago. They were the first ones to basically rip the Band-Aid and one go.
