Thanks Converge.

Could you please help us with your background? Also, it would be helpful if you could answer these:

1. How has your experience been so far (it's too early to ask but still)
2. What is keeping you busy these days? Has the recruitment activities already started?
3. What is the status of new building which was expected to be operational in 2016? Are your classes taking place in the old building?
4. What are the facilities (gym, swimming pool, recreational center etc.) offered to the students on campus? How big is the campus?
5. What do you think of the class composition? Class composition is one of the most celebrated aspects of the LBS experience - what is your thoughts on this?
6. What, in your opinion, will be the impact of Brexit on part time internship opportunities? are students worried about this aspect?
7. Based on your experience so far - what are the things you don't like about LBS?
8. A silly question - but does LBS offer free booze - I read in several blogs that US b schools organize free booze social events?
9. If you were to do this all over again - how would you utilize your time before the commencement of MBA program? Would you travel or would you go for pre-mba part time internship?
10. What are the various social events organized by the school? Are organizing such events driven by students? (meaning student decides the place, fund the event etc.)

I look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks

Hi thanks for reaching out. I'm interested in understanding what percentage of people go on the treks and the global business experiences. Can you elaborate on those?

Also can you give some help on what to prepare for in the interview? Mine is coming up this week! Very excited/nervous!

Anyone else had their interview yet? How did it go? GOOD LUCK ALL!!

Hi I had my interview yesterday.. The interview was very conversational. Most of the questions were based on my resume.

1. Why MBA
2. Why LBS
3. Why not Insead
4. Why Not US B schools
5. Leadership experience
6. how would your friend describe you
7. Strength
8. International experience
9. Questions about my work - like how does the organization work - what exactly they do etc

Pretty peaceful. Only bad thing was that I was not prepared for it.. In hindsight, I could have done better.

Well, just had my interview. In the end I couldn't really gauge how well it went but I think more on the positive side.

All-in-all it was very conversational. First question was the classic "tell me about yourself?" which I probably spent too long on but at least tried to stick some motivations in there in terms of wanting an international career and wanting to go into consulting.

Other questions:
2. What words would your friends/ colleagues use to describe you
3. It doesn’t look like you’re really changing industries in the end, why do you need an mba?
4. Where do you want to work when you finish, why? (commented about how it’s more difficult to find a spot in London and should be open to other cities)
5. What things would you contribute to your study group and what would you hope to get out of it?
6. Tell me about a time you failed?
7. How is your team structured?
8. Tell me about the average day in your job ?
9. Tell me about the biggest threats and opportunities you see to the industry?
11. Do you have any management experience?
12. Tell me about your experience with different cultures approaching things differently?
13. What are some of these things you need to develop / you think you would struggle with during the MBA?
14. Tell me about a weakness of yours?

In the middle we had the case/presentation which was quite easy - I think they just want to check how you think when approached with an ambiguous problem.

She offered a lot of information about financing, the culture of LBS, the career center and moving into the consulting industry. She also offered advice on which school to chose (if not LBS) from the other ones I applied for, that kind of concerned me.

She didn't really ask "Why LBS" so I had to fit it into my answers. I then had about 10 minutes to ask questions. The whole interview took a little over 90 minutes. Now all I can do is wait till November to see the results! Good luck to everyone.

Thanks for writing down your interview experience. I also could not gauge how it went but more I think of it, I realize that I screwed it up very badly. In the end the Alum finished the interview by saying "either way lets stay in touch" - now this makes me very jittery.

What did you do that makes you think you screwed up?
In the end I think they are instructed not to give any clues towards how it went and to remain relatively neutral.

Had my interview yesterday. I thought it went well and overall pleased with my performance. I dont want to get my hopes up but I am really hoping to get an offer. LBS is now my first choice since HBS dinged me. ;) I read last year's forum and it sounded like some people got decisions before the actual release date, but last year's notification date was in December and this year LBS has it set for November 23. The countdown is on!!! Who else is super nervous/excited/scared?

Definitely all of the above! Was checking clear admit -- looks like a lot of admit offers and waitlist notifications went out 1 week before the deadline last year -- so we should start seeing some movement in about 10 days! Fingers double crossed. :o

Don't want to get political, but I sure hope my Interview went well. As a Latin American, my plan B to apply on R2 to some US programs frightens me at the moment.

My nervousness about the decision just grew exponentially.

Heyo! More than half of Americans did not vote for Donald Trump. While he has been elected president that doesn't mean that his views are shared by the entire population. Just as business schools in the UK reacted to Brexit, I think it's a safe bet that business schools in the US are still interested in attracting diversity and touting themselves as internationally minded. I wouldn't worry too much. Also, if you look at the voting maps, you'll notice that the areas where many top US schools are located are quite blue

That's true and I know most people in the US, especially in the top schools, are very open, but still just on the exchange rate my MBA tuition just increased about 17% and the opportunities upon graduation might become more difficult. Of course this all speculation, so let's hope for the best with LBS.

Good luck to everyone, I'm sure this is going to be an amazing class! :-D :-D
