Hello! I’m Vanshika. I graduated in 2023 with a B.Com (Hons.) from NMIMS with a 3.3/4 CGPA, and I have 2 years of work experience as a Strategy Analyst at a wealth management company.
I’m planning to apply to MBA programs this year. Given my tenure of work experience, what are my odds at LBS?
Hi Vanshika, you do have a good profile. However, it’s important to note that top MBA programs, especially those at schools like LBS, typically have an average class work experience of five to seven years. With only two years of experience, most schools will find your application below the average and are likely to reject it.

This isn’t just about the number of years. MBA programs are designed for individuals who have already had two to three leadership stints, managing people, projects, or processes. This kind of experience generally comes after at least three years in the workforce, regardless of the industry.

Once you’ve gained those foundational leadership experiences, the MBA helps refine and accelerate your growth into more senior roles. At this stage, schools may feel your accomplishments, skills, and stories don’t yet match the level they expect from peers in the classroom.

I would strongly advise waiting at least two more years before applying to LBS or any other top 50 global MBA program.

Let’s work together to build a profile top schools can’t ignore. Start your free profile review at Think BlueBox Consulting website.

Quick one, I have written some drafts for my essays but when I use different AI detector engines I get very different percentages as the answer even tho I wrote most of it myself? What should I do in this case? I don't want the adcom to think ive copied from AI tbh.
Do share the essay to me..will unpack my suggestion to optimize your essay free of charge😊

Yes, it is, unless you explicitly ask LBS (and other schools) to waive it based on your specific case.

For LBS, University of Oxford, and Cambridge Judge, there is no need to write the English proficiency exam. Instead, you need to present evidence that your entire undergrad was taught in English. In doing so, do check out your undergrad mark sheet or transcript to spot a line where it is mentioned that your undergrad was in English. If it is not there, go to college or university, and take a bona fide letter, stating that your bachelor was in English.

Hope this helps.

Does this also apply to students from countries that are not classified as “majority English-speaking countries”? (e.g. India isn’t considered to be in this list, and the FAQs specifically ask for IELTS/ TOEFL scores)

Hi, can anyone help to confirm 1) do we need to upload batchelor degree transcripts along with application form or we can upload marksheet that's sufficient the requirement.
2) how to convert batchelor degree % to cgpa requirement, is WES gives the correct picture.

Yes. I have placed numerous Indian candidates in these schools without English proficiency test.

I think I have addressed your question yesterday during the curtailed call we had?
Anyways, you can upload either your semester-wise marksheet or unofficial detailed transcript in the application portal, not both.
In any application, if it is percentage, select a scale of 100 and put exact percentage you obtained. If it is out of 10, do select a 10 scale and insert the exact CGPA you attained. Hope this helps.

Adding more: if school specifically tells us to use Wes calculater to convert. Then you can. Else not required
