Nope. Whoever's managing the FB group must need to confirm that we're actual admitted students before letting us join.

Has anybody been able to join the Facebook group?

Nope. Just the MBA Welcome. I guess the admission status needs to reflect in all UT systems (Housing, Finance etc) before it becomes available for use.

For FB group- there are 4 admins including Rodrigo himself. It shouldn't be too difficult for them to verify. May be they are working on the more important stuffs right now- scholarship communications, admitted students website etc before moving on to connecting students of the class.

The deposit is $2000. I have decided to matriculate
I am not sure if I really should attend the MBA welcome day on the 7th of Feb, as I live in Asia at the moment.. 15 hour flight(one-way) which will set me about $2500 poorer for one day of event seems a bit expensive..

Yes, ofcourse it's an expensive proposition to fly just for the event. I'm sure there will be many more considering this is only the first round.

Any idea whether any more scholarships will be given out? Last year many scholarships mails went out when the school reopened after holidays.

secondtimesthecharm I surely hope so. After waiting for the admission decision, now got to wait for the admit packet.The wait never seems to end... Any idea when to expect it? My guess is late January as the school will now be closed for Christmas.

Did any international admit hear anything on scholarship?

Based out of India. Received the scholarship email hours after the admit email.

If I remember correctly, there is a space where you can type your website address other than https://gmatclub.com/chat.. I pasted link to my facebook page in that space. Also, https://gmatclub.com/chat is optional, so is the pinterest board

Ah yes, right. Probably I mixed the two areas where you could share your social media profiles. There is another section, which I think is fully optional, where you can share links to your webpage, pinterest board and linkedIn page.. Although optional, I think they're a great opportunity to showcase your personal side to the admissions.

Could anyone shed light on whether McCombs has a no-cosignor loan option for International Students.

I found nothing on their website to suggest that they do. Anyone heard anything from their chats with the adcom/students?

Unfortunately, McCombs does not provide loans without a US co signer. Here's their official statement:

Loans for International Students
For an international student, there may be more loan options (and better loan terms) if you have a U.S. citizen or permanent resident co-signer. We are not able to recommend any lenders specifically but we work with all banks and lending institutions. We currently do not have a lender that will offer a loan program to an international student that cannot obtain a U.S. citizen co-signer or have three years U.S. credit history in his/her own name. We, as the University of Texas at Austin, cannot be your co-signer.
