Got the acceptance call last night as well (non-consortium applicant). No scholarship/fellowship info for me. I was told they'd announce scholarship money (if any) by the end of the month, and if I didn't hear anything, it means I didn't receive anything. Crossing my fingers for some scholarship money, as out-of-state is expensive and I still have quite a bit of student loans to pay off.

Admit weekend info came in the email from Rodrigo and is April 16-18.

Good luck to everyone! This has been a very amiable thread and I've very much enjoyed the positive attitudes everyone has had!

Long time reader, 1st time poster. I received a call from admissions yesterday with acceptance and fellowship (Consortium Applicant)!

Applied Jan. 5
Interviewed Jan. 27
Accepted March 12
Was your fellowship mentioned in the email they sent?

No, just over the phone. They mentioned they would send packets via postal mail.

I got a call from a 512 number before lunch but the immediately hung up and didn't leave a message. I didn't think anything of it until I came on here and saw people were getting calls already. Lol now I don't know what to think.

The website says that spring break is between march 16th to 21st. So it's unlikely that any admits will be rolled out this week although I hope that they do.
The wait is something that I am not prepared for.

Though the faculty and students may be gone for break generally staff like the adcoms and finaid work. At least that's how it is for the school I work for.

This is completely speculative and may be irrelevant, but FWIW Duke released their decisions last week during their spring break. That said, their deadline was listed as during their spring break, whereas McCombs' stated deadline is not for another week.

I just wonder why they chose to release a few decisions and then make people wait an agonizing week? Versus waiting until they come back?

Are you wondering what the hot MBA jobs of the future will be? Take a look at these six up-and-coming jobs that US News & World Report highlights as well-suited for business school graduates. Not surprising, they all command solid salaries, and the US Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts hiring growth in these industries.
Here are US News’s top picks:
Operations research analyst: Higher-level operations research analysts usually have an MBA with a specialization in production and operations management. Consider top schools, such as University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School and the Michigan Ross School of Business.

IT Manager: These professionals supervise employees, communicate with internal executives and outside vendors as well as plan various tech upgrades for their employer. Check out the excellent program for information systems at MIT Sloan School of Management.

Management Analyst: These professionals provide feedback on improving an organization’s efficiency and profitability. Competitive candidates have a few years of experience in operations, and have earned an MBA with a focus on management. Stanford Graduate School of Business and Harvard Business School have top programs.?

Financial analyst: These professionals help companies determine when to buy and sell investments.  The Chicago Booth School of Business and the NYU Stern School of Business offer top finance programs.

HR specialist: These professionals work with a company’s employees, by doing anything from recruiting them to training them to explaining their benefits. HR specialists don’t need an MBA, but the degree will help them stand out from the competition.

Information security analyst: These analysts monitor and protect an organization’s computer network and systems. Companies prefer to hire those with an MBA. The UT McCombs School of Business and Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business are top-notch programs for studying information systems.

As you can see, employers are looking for skilled managers to lead the way in today’s global economy. Business and management degrees can be a powerful driver of confidence and opportunity to achieve those ambitious goals.

I just received a mail from the Associate Director of Admission for the Full-Time Texas MBA program that my application is currently under review by the Admissions Committee and they made me an extra question about my future goals because the question was not address at the interview. Do you think these are bad new? I am very nervous.
