*Reapplicant after 6 months - please advise*

I’m planning to reapply to business schools this cycle, just six months after my last attempt (I applied in Round 3 in March). I am planning to reapply to Ross and Darden.

Since my last application, here’s what I’ve worked on:
1. Improved my GRE from 310 → 317
2. Refined both my short-term and long-term post-MBA goals (after working with consultants and reflecting on feedback)
3. Conducted 8 training sessions for aspiring entrepreneurs across Azerbaijan
4. Gained ~200 new customers for my edtech startup over the last 6 months (though growth has plateaued over the last several years)
5. Made resume improvements and clarified my career narrative

On the goals side, I shifted from a broad “PM at Amazon/Google” aim to a more specific plan: PM at an edtech company like Khan Academy or Duolingo, with structured processes, strong collaboration, and scaling strategies — areas I know I need to grow in, since they’ve been my main limitation in scaling my own startup.

So here are my main questions:
1. Do these improvements feel significant enough (or even overly optimistic in a way that diminishes their value) to strengthen my profile in just 6 months?
2. Has anyone heard anyone reapplied so soon and actually seen success?

I am not sure how reapplying in just 6 months would make it seem to the admissions committee because typically reapplicants apply after a year or 2.

But you seem to have made pretty significant changes in both your story and goals.
Ultimately what matters to adcom is how significantly your story changed from then to now.

Think about why they might have rejected you the first time.
Just get an objective look on what’s different from the previous application to now and determine if it is significant enough or not. I don’t know about the other parts of your application so I cannot comment.

Thank you a lot for your message! I will think more deeply about my application outcome 🙏 I believe my 146 Verbal score and goal statement could be the weakest points and onvious reasons for rejection. Also, I applied in the 3rd round being too much optimistic about the outcome when it is very competitive.

Hey all,
I got an email from Ross that encourages me to reapply. I was just wondering if it’s a bulk mail or they actually mean it?🫠
Has anyone else gotten this email?

They said you should reapply? They haven't started making decisions yet

It is a re-applicant email to someone who applied last year 😇

I think it may be both - they shortlisted a group of folks they wanted to see apply again.
At the same time, schools are super busy right now with events (we can't get any answers from them either) and since more applications is a good thing for them, I can see them just blasting this thing out. Sorry :(

Got this too, I think it’s just sent in bulk tbh
it says “we were impressed by your achievements“ and stuff
I feel like it’s a bit mean to phrase bulk emails like this.

I also applied last year but didn't receive this email. Good luck to you, man!

It is generally advised not to use quotes

Try to avoid them and if you have to use it for making your story better, I would suggest paraphrasing
   1  ...  17   18   19   20   21  ...  226
