I've been waitlisted. R3 applicant. This is the final round, so I'm very surprised there's a waitlist at all for R3's. Does anybody happen to know when R3's put on the waitlist might be notified of an acceptance, if it were to happen? I have an offer from another program and the deposit deadline is May 20th. Very short notice!

I as well am R3 applicant and got waitlisted. I believe R3 waitlisting should go much quicker as deadlines for decisions are quite short compared to R1/R2 waitlisting.

Not sure of the program, but the one I have a deadline on gave me the flexibility of postponing the deposit deadline - worth reaching out and asking.

Best of luck to you! I have emailed Ross Admissions to inquire about the possible timeline. In the meantime, I've joined the waitlist and crossed my fingers. If I hear back about the timeline, I'll post what I know on here.

It's difficult for me to understand the process of the waitlist. If even after essays, interviews, multiple adcom catch-ups, waitlist updates and coffee chats the adcom is unable to decide then they should automatically reject the candidate.

This way they can provide some peace to candidates who remain anxious for no good reason. I feel that waitlist candidates have been treated way worse than both admitted and rejected candidates.

Sorry for venting out the frustration.

try not to take it personally, what they are trying to do is shape a class and they are waiting for decisions from admitted candidates. So it’s not really about you specifically it’s kind of about those who have decided to take the offer or reject the offer. Of course you want to provide updates and make yourself as attractive as possible but it’s just not only about you it’s largely about the competition. And also how they are shaping the class. Like do they have another one of you who’s admitted and is going to say yes. It’s honestly a small percentage of those who get off the wait list and it is probably advisable to try your best to develop other offers and submit other applications. Nobody is saying you should stop developing your options until they’ve made a decision. I know it sucks though I completely empathize.

Had a chat with adcom. International students should expect results ( you know what you will get ) between 25th May and 1st June.

Considering that they will be evaluating things after the closure of the round 3 deposit, it is quite evident what result they will be sharing with us.
