Does the app status normally change at MIT when an app is under review?

For all those that interviewed: How was it?

Mine was almost exactly as expected with a mix of explaining my position, ambitions, and some behavioral questions. My interview was quite short though, maybe 30 minutes including my questions to the adcom member.

Mine covered those same topics (although I wasn't directly asked about ambitions outside of Why MBA and Why Sloan) and was short as well! I think it was under 25 minutes. It really surprised me when the interviewer said they had asked all of their questions after such a short period of time. I also was expecting a lot of follow-up questions but instead we moved to the next question after almost all of my responses.

Fingers crossed for all for the next 13 days!

Mine also went as expected, lots of focus on behavioral questions (3 or 4), and why Sloan/ why MBA/ why now. No direct questions about my goals but I brought it up as part of why Sloan answer. My interview was 50 minutes and went really well, easily the best of my interviews (although Wharton's TBD isn't really comparable). As a side note, I think interviewing directly with an adcom means they ask questions that target the strengths of your application in a way that interviewing with a current student, one who hasn't interviewed hundreds of students a year for many years, may not.

Did anyone on this board interview in Cambridge? I interviewed a few weeks ago and thought that there were at least 30 people interviewing. If we assume that's the average number of interviews per day (hopefully not...), then Sloan interviewed roughly interviewed 600 people (~20 interview days from 11/9 to 12/8) in Cambridge. Perhaps, Sloan interviewed another 200 across the other locations, so it conducted 800 total interviews.

I interviewed this week (one of the last dates available) and there were only about 10 of us. I don't know if you can read too much into the number of interviewees.

Just received an email asking if my contact information was still up to date as the plan in releasing all decisions next Monday (the 19th) by 5:00 pm ET - this waiting game is not easy!

Not very considerate towards candidates based in Asia to send at 5pm. It's not that they need these extra 5h or whatever it is.

Anyways! Good luck everyone.

Do MIT inform all accepted applicants by phone or email?

If by phone, should we anxiously expect a call on the deadline date or the day before that?

Same Q - has anyone checked old posts? Am I supposed to panic for the next 24 hours and keep checking my phone or just login to the portal at 5pm on 19th?

I can understand the anxiety of y'all. I scanned last year's thread to see the decision timeline. First call was reported on forum at 9:50 am Eastern time from Singapore followed by California (10:45 ET), Northeast, and Chicago (11am ET). First ding reported at 3:06 pm ET.

Most of the posts from last night were deleted by this morning. Looks like actual invites have started going out this morning though!

I'm not sure what indication we have that people were trolling, but I posted mine and it's real (although it feels very surreal)! Incredibly excited. Best of luck to you all!
