Someone had shared that in-general waitlist convert numbers are 10%. But this data isn’t publicly available, so not many know.

I was talking to someone yesterday with a good profile, waitlisted in R1 (without interview). They provided tons of updates (LoS, promotion, etc...) and still didn’t get an interview in R2.

Good luck everyone!! I know it can be nerve racking. Also, those who are Waitlisted, it more about the school’s requirement to build a well rounded class, manage their yield etc than the strength of your profile per se. I liked this WL advice archive https://www.clearadmit.com/category/adm ... st-advice/

I was initially waitlisted in Round 1 without an interview, and I later submitted 3 updates highlighting academic, professional, and personal/extra-curricular developments since my application. However, I was waitlisted again in Round 2.
Is there anything else I can do to get off the waitlist at this point?

I hope you have submitted a additional letter of support? Also, many a times WL profiles are read again after all decisions (depending on class yield that year). But first step is to get an interview, there will be people who are on the WL after interview so those candidates will hear back earlier. Hope this helps. Good luck and don’t lose hope.

Thank you Butuku2023, Never_give_up, rahul5657 — rooting for your applications and congratulations on the admit, Never_give_up

Got my SFMBA interview invitation 5 mins after I received my Columbia rejection. It was wild and I was bawling. I’m just grateful to have even gone this far with programs I felt were a far reach. Darn, MBA admissions give you all the feels!

Congratulations to everyone who received interview invites, prepare well! For those who didn’t, cheer up! This whole process is incredibly competitive, and one outcome doesn’t define your potential. Wishing the best for other schools as well.

The Letter of Support seems to be the only one thing I haven’t done at this point, and that’s because I do not know any alum personally. I was expecting at least an invite in this round, but instead, i was waitlisted for a second time without interview.

So the letter of support does Not need to be from an MIT alum. It can be from another supervisor/client/mentor who has worked with you in a professional capacity and can vouch for your SFMBA potential and fit.
Most schools ask for 2 LORs but MIT SFMBA just needs 1 as part of the main application so this is your chance to submit another LOR/letter of support. If you can get one from an alumnus that's great but it doesn't have to be that way. Moreover, I hope you have taken advantage of scheduling an informational phone call with an adcom member which can be done via the website. In my experience, they do not give exact reasons for someone being on WL but do give a general direction and feedback on the steps you have taken to get off the WL. Good luck!

Thanks for the insights. My application was for the Full time MBA, and not the SFMBA though. I also can’t where to schedule a call on the website. Could you please point me in the right direction?
