The admission committee takes these things into consideration, 2 jobs shows you mean business. Are you local or foreign applicant?

Ya, I think my strength is having entrepreneurial experience and exposure to various cultures at different parts of the world as a result of work, studies and international volunteering experience. Hopefully I will do well on the interview and get a better GMAT score in October to strengthen my position. Would love to see you guys at NUS :D

johnzhang456 - Would love to have you in the class. Ping me in case of any support required for the interviews. Good luck bud !

petrichor : It’s good to be apprehensive. I was under the same dilemma while applying and considering the very fact the length of experience i carry. Again, i would say don’t limit yourself to Singapore. This tag is well appreciated globally. Also, statistically it is the most nominal global mba program (fees wise). You can check on the LinkedIn once - Will get a better idea on where the current/past students are working/ interning. Also, it’s the best bet in Singapore (in comparison to NTU and SMU)

Thanks Ankit, right seeing it from a global stand point is good. I too have 11 years of experience with 680 GMAT and 4+ years international experience; though selection is based on the holistic profile, Do you think i need to improve my GMAT to have a better chance of getting the admit?

Your GMAT is competitive. I believe above this, the main emphasis should be on your experience especially your international experience. In my case and generally for candidates having such an experience, the schools are more interested on how you will enrich their current batch and the community. We have a lot to talk about which is an advantage. You can definitely write again but with this score also, you are ticking all the boxes.

I talked with few alumni - some returned to India post MBA for job and few compared Singapore and UK (say Said/Judge), both being a highly competitive environment for MBAs. and on PR part, people with even PhD are struggling to get one. Of Course we can’t generalize it based on few cases, but its good to know from someone who knows the situation better..

I see. I think this may have something to do with the overall environment. I do not know the exact dates you are referring to, but I am assuming with Covid, world conflicts etc, we live in a time that employment is simply hard to come by. I can imagine how competitive it is in India due to overpopulation since I know how that is playing out in China as well.

For your reference, I have friends graduated from Tsing Hua with Masters in Biz aka the #1 school in China and the most reputable brand there, and he is simply rotting at home now since he can’t find a job. This is just the reality of life you know. MBA Masters or PhD, nothing really matters more than how you carry yourself finding networks, acing that interview and showing how unique you are.

That’s always there, but my point is more about the ’external’ factors. With our talent and networks despite being a VP in top company, if you don’t get a clear view on your legal position to live in a country long term that’s insecure and annoying, US is notorious for treating immigrants like that .. hope I’m clear on why I started that discussion in first place.

In a gist, more of the hostility factor towards immigrants and inclination towards citizens. I’m not bringing a political discussion here. But just to know things before hand is better right.

Hi guys, regarding the optional question, ’Is there any additional information relevant to your application that you’d like to share with the Admissions Committee?’ what is the best way to utilise it?

Did I misread your point? Were you talking about employment options post MBA in Singapore? If that is the case OHHH! Well I am not from Singapore too and I sometimes think about whether I can find employment there too. I guess in general it is pretty hard for foreigners to find employments overseas. That is definitely something to think about. :-o

kvakhil - The optional essay is something which outlines something you have exhibited outside your CV/ Application. Something which the Admissions committee can get to know additionally about you apart from the essays and details submitted by you.

I have 14+ years now and by 2023 matriculation I would have 190 months. Would that be acceptable with a 760 and we’ll defined goals? Coz institutions in India don’t seem to think that way. Not the IIMs at least.

I mean you have way more work experience than I do and a much better GMAT score. Your GMAT definitely helped cover for the GPA. It just comes down to interview and your application. Given your exp and GMAT, I'd say you have more of a breathing room with app and interview.
