Hi,

Have a small query regarding recommenders.

Can the recommender be a former supervisor/colleage i.e. someone who supervised/mentored me at my current firm but has now moved on to a different firm?

Thanks

Yes. This is fine. Please ensure that the buffer/ time difference isn't much since he left the organization. Schools prefer recommenders who talk about your feats and positives as part of your current role and responsibilities. I hope it makes sense.

Hi Kg133 - My apologies for the delay in getting back to you. As per the application process, you just need to nominate your recommenders by the application due date. Please ensure to get the LORs submitted within a weeks time. It is ideal to submit the complete application by the due date, but most B-schools do provide some relaxation with respect to LORs. In case of any other queries on Singapore specific schools, you can message me in person too. Would be happy to help and assist further. Good Luck :)

Hi all,

The essays mention 250 words & 3500 characters. Does it mean that 250 words is the limit or 3500 characters? Because in my experience, 3500 characters can accomodate at least 700 words.

It should tick both the checks. At Most (250 words and 3500 characters). Basis my experience, when i was finalizing my essays for NUS 250 words were approximately 2000-2500 characters. Again a lot depends on the vocab you are using in your essays. Ping/ Buzz me in case of any support. All the very best :)

All the best. Can you let me know what’s your GMAT score? I have a 680 and I want to assess if that’s good enough for applying or do I take another shot

My GMAT is pretty bad actually. I scored 610. I didn't have much time to study since I work 2 full time jobs. But I am planning to retest sometime in October. I did however submit my application with a 610 though.

The admission committee takes these things into consideration, 2 jobs shows you mean business. Are you local or foreign applicant?

It depends on your short term and long term goals. I applied with an experience of 9.5 years and have currently a deferred admit. So technically will be staring next year with close to 11 years of work experience. There are people with close to 14 years + work experience also in the cohort.
