hey ShivaniD

I havent completed my application yet, but If I am not wrong they require a scanned copy of transcripts.
There is no need to fly down to get your transcripts.

Yes, you're right. The admissions only requested me to bring along my original degree when I am to go down for my interview.

When are the application deadlines exactly?

I can't seem to find it.

Surprisingly, they haven't updated the dates on the website yet.
But they are mentioned on the application page-

Submit your COMPLETED application by :

Round 1 (31 Jan 2019) - $50 (50% waiver for early submission)
Round 2 (1 Feb - 31 Mar 2019) - $100

Thanks a ton. I'm trying to set up my account online. What did you select for this drop down? Are these the only two options? :

Even I was wondering the same, then I found the following on NUS website. So we do need to choose one of the 2 specializations only if they are. Otherwise we can leave it blank.

I think no one can specifically clear out that doubt based on official announcements, however my best bet would be to contact alumni and get a broad idea on this.

What does NUS specialise in and what kind of candidates are they looking for? Read through the website but could only get a sense that most of the post MBA jobs are in consulting. Any inputs will be appreciated.

Hi HK,

Thanks.
My profile is as below;

Undergrad: BE Mechanical (3.86 CGPA)
GMAT: 710
WE: >72 months
Sector: Oil and Gas / Energy

Below are the essays for the application. Couldn't find the link;

1) Briefly describe your immediate post-MBA career goal including your industry, function and country of choice and how have your prior experiences motivated and prepared you to pursue these goals? (300 words) (Maximum 3500 characters)
2) Name one current issue (economic / social / political) that Asia is facing and identify a couple of strategies that you think may address the issue. (300 words) (Maximum 3500 characters)
3) Define what success means to you. (300 words) (Maximum 3500 characters)
4) (Optional Essay) In 300 words, describe how you have demonstrated leadership and overcame obstacles in your professional, social, or family life. (Maximum 3500 characters)
And one more for re-applicants.

Not much of an expert regarding the applications but I would suggest to focus on the essays. This is the opportunity to tell your story and connect the dots. You have to convince how the NUS MBA falls in sync with your career plan. The business schools look at your profile holistically. So be sure to highlight all extra curriculars and things you are passionate about.
Hope that helps. :)

Regards.

Hey,

Sorry I can't help with that.
My recommenders directly responded to the request from NUS so I do not have any details in this regards.
Don't worry too much about the questions. I assume it would be routine about how the recommenders know you, for how long, your strengths, your major accomplishments etc. :)

I have just started with the Application, made an account today.
Following are the Essay topics for 2019 intake

1. Briefly describe your immediate post-MBA career goal including your industry, function and country of choice and how have your prior experiences motivated and prepared you to pursue these goals? (300 words)

2. Name one current issue (economic / social / political) that Asia is facing and identify a couple of strategies that you think may address the issue. (300 words)

3. Define what success means to you. (300 words)

4. In 300 words, describe how you have demonstrated leadership and overcame obstacles in your professional, social, or family life. [OPTIONAL]

5. Please provide an update on any new aspects of your professional, international, academic or personal profile that would not have been included in your previous application. Please also explain your motivation for re-applying to NUS. (Max. 300 words)[ONLY FOR RE-APPLICANTS]

How are you guys planning to go ahead ?

I'll first start with something fundamental.

I believe that the key is to tie these 4 (I'm assuming that everyone will be writing at least 4 essays), into one large coherent story about yourself. For instance, how does Essay 1 lead to Essay 3? How does essay 2 impact essay 1? How does essay 4 make you prepared for essay 1 and 3? Throughout all, bring out nuances to help the reviewers know who you are as a person, and your personality. After all, they only have 4 short essays to understand you.

Also, for those who are thinking a step further, think about your essays in much more depth than what you can include in the 300 words, as these topics will come out in your interview.

I would suggest you build up the rest of your profile as best as you can, and hope for the best. As other forum-ers have mentioned, there is no exact answer to this. Getting a high GMAT score will definitely help. (this is speaking from personal experience)
