Sorry to hear your plight. While most folks have a good experience I know few folks who had similar experience to yours.

I would suggest you take heart and apply to other schools. It's one school down many more to go ;)

When I tried to book a coffee chat meet, I was denied one. When I tried to contact another admission's officer, I was finally given a coffee chat slot. During the chat this woman named Lynda was exceptionally unprofessional and rude and kept rambling about how bad my profile was. I have a 710 on GMAT and a 3.3 GPA in civil engineering, but I have gap in employment because I migrated to a new country. I tried to explain that I worked part time and that I have volunteered at non profit organizations, but she did not want to hear anything. I thanked her for the meeting and ended it as she was not letting me talk and had already made up her mind. She said - what have you studied? I said engineering. To which she said - everybody in India is an engineer. The way she behaved, she forgot that her behavior will mar the reputation of Rotman.

Compared to Rotman, Ivey Adcom was definitely more professional and mature.

Hello,
I am interested in fields ranging from marketing to consulting (non-finance & non-tech)(still need to figure out) post mba.
I got offers from Rotman & Mcgill Fulltime MBA. I am a NON-french speaker & I am looking to maximize my ROI.
My effective "tuition" fee after the scholarship is Rotman is ~ 41k CAD higher than that for McGill. Plus, given that Toronto can get crazy expensive than Montreal.

Businessconquerer already gave his opinion, I would love to hear other suggestions and opinions.

Thanks for your help!!

McGill has very good support to Alumnus, and class size is less than Rotman, so u get more individual attention for sure. Moreover McGill graduates has more average salary than Rotman.
Rotman offers very good labs for self development, and from my point of view Rotman brand is more prestigious than McGill.
At the end you should decide where to go

Hi everyone,
Rotman team requests us to use their one page resume for submission. Can someone post a filled resume to have a glance, since that format seems a bit generic and there is no opportunity to include some key information.

I don't think there's a lot to do about negotiation, I think that the best way is to be straightforward and say that he loves Rotman and would definitely like to join for the MBA, but is having trouble sorting out the finances and whether it'd be possible for the admissions team to revisit the scholarship. If he has been accepted at another school and has a bigger scholarship, be honest and mention that while maintaining that Rotman is his first choice and that a higher scholarship would really help him with his decisions journey.

The admissions team appreciates honesty and communication, so I believe that should help.

Who said so? They don't request that, they just recommend that. Btw, it's important to keep your CV one page. That's how it is in North American Business Culture. Additionally, as soon as the program starts, you will be asked to submit your CV in the Rotman MBA format. Rotman shares its students'CVs in a single format with recruiters.

Good luck with your application!

As far as I know, you can be pretty honest and say "I'd love to go, this is my favorite option, but I'm still figuring out the financials and a better scholarship would really help me out. Can this be reviewed?" and they take it to the admissions panel to check it out. If you or your friend have received a better scholarship at another school, mention it and that should help, otherwise, I wouldn't lie about it to them, it's always possible they'll find out and rescind your acceptance.

Make sure they understand how excited you are about Rotman, they love that... When I mentioned I'm going for another school, they offered to review the scholarship (I had received $20,000). I said no thanks because I had pretty much made up my mind by time, but I wanted to say yes to see how far that would go...

Good luck!

Hi wishing everyone a happy new year.. I'm new to this thread and wanted some clarity on the deadlines.. when Rotman says deadline is Jan 11, is there any specific time deadline or is it 11:59PM EST on Jan 11 or any other earlier timeline?

Can anyone confirm the length of the responses for the video essays for Rotman? Some schools appear to be 1 minute but I can't find it specifically for Rotman.

30 seconds to prepare, 90 seconds to answer. In total, 2 questions and one timely written essay that you have 10 minutes to complete. Good luck!
